hello again,

my now wife arrived in JFK as her POE and they stamped her so that she can work. this expires in 1 year. my question is, do we need to send in any forms or will she just be granted permanent working ability after her AOS is accepted? i see that on the visajourney AOS information link (http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-aos.html), it tells you to send in a form for employment authorization but it is only for temporary authorization. im just a bit confused and appreciate any information.

thanks.

The stamp is NOT authority to work anymore. You need to wait until she has EAD or AOS in hand before she gets work. The E verify system , which an employer is required to check before hiring anyone , will not have her in it.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Like nigeriaorbust said, no longer accepted. You must have the EAD or greencard to work. EAD will come usually within 3 months after filing AOS.

you can work with the I-94 and a SS# for 90 days, but get that EAD or you have to stop working when the 90 days is up, but you might have to show the employer the proof from the SS site that you can work, since nobody seems to know the law. https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0100203500
