AOS Interview Approved, but NO STAMP on Passport!

We recently had our AOS interview on January 12, 2010. (Interview experience is posted in our time-line.) Anyway, once the interview was done, the officer told us we were approved & gave my husband a paper to sign. Then she gave us the bottom half of the paper to keep. The little white paper had information about when & how to renew his Green Card in two years. She told us we would receive his Green Card in the mail.

Okay now so here's my question:

Is it okay if my husband's passport wasn't stamped? She told us we were approved & that my husband would receive his Green Card by mail. I've been reading through this forum & I noticed that a lot of people who have had their AOS interview get a stamp on their passport. Now 'm ALL CONFUSED!!! What is that stamp for and do you HAVE to get one????? :wacko: Is it bad that my husband's passport was not stamped even though we were approved??? you only need the stamp if you are gonna travel... they had problems last summer producing greencards but that has been fixed

We had our interview on Thursday and my husband didn't get a stamp in his passport either. You actually got more than we did b/c my hubby didn't sign anything and we have no real evidence that he approved us except for his verbal "you're approved." Our case status hasn't updated yet but I think it takes a few days to get notification sometimes. You are not alone! :thumbs:

09/21/08- Phil arrives in US

08/15/09- Wedding

10/16/09- Mailed out AOS package

01/14/10- Interview completed - Approved!

01/23/10- Conditional Green Card received!

ROC

10/17/11- Mailed ROC package

10/19/11- Package arrives at VSC

10/20/11- NOA1 issued

10/24/11- "Touch"

10/24/11- Check cashed

10/26/11- NOA1 received

11/23/11- Biometrics appointment

01/14/12- Conditional GC Expired

07/17/12- Approved! - Notification of card production

07/23/12- Notification of card being mailed

07/25/12- 10 year GC received!

We already have his AP document, but we're planning to travel once he receives is Green Card.

you only need the stamp if you are gonna travel... they had problems last summer producing greencards but that has been fixed
