How much time did you allow between flights when it was booked?

It's okay to rant but don't take it out on each other for Heaven's sake! Give him a big hug and kiss and tell him how glad you are to see him! :)

Karen

i was wondering about the layover/change over time allotted as well, karen.

i know it sucks to wait but 1-2 hrs is a good buffer when you have to go through immigration between flights ...

I'm not exactly sure what he allotted but from what he told me, he left like an hour and a half or so, but air france was late getting in, then immigration, and when they got out, the airplane was just taking off.

I'm calmer now than I was, and I know the second I see him all of the frustration will melt away. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ungrateful for him coming home, it's just that we've waited so long and been through so much (like everyone else, I know). We've waited this long, why not a few more hours?

And yes, a big factor in it is the fact that I will be dragging my two year old around in a carseat and stroller all night long, which will make for an excellant day of recovery for alex tomorrow. She'll be crankier than a snowman on a sand-dune.

For those of you that let me rant and were understanding, thank you.

the rest of you, thanks for the constructive criticism. or non-constructive, as the case may be. We all have our individual situations, and our own personalities. I understand how my rant might have set some of you off, and I apologize, but I'm glad I at least have someplace I can go to and give my opinion.

I'll take the criticism as it comes, it's worth it for the support.

glad to hear that you've calmed down a little ... although a little strange that you don't know his exact itinerary and connections, but hey ... to each their own! just happy that you'll soon be on your way to your much anticipated reunion!!!

Delta airlines, what a bunch of CHOPF***S!!!!! They left every person that had to go through immigration STRANDED at the airport.

What are my rights here? They offered him a hotel in a strange city he's never been in, and a flight for 7 am. I said no. Get something better, faster. They tols him that they can get him a flight that will arrive at 230 in the morning. It's an illegal flight according to them as well. Illegal because he only has 30 minutes to change planes in Vegas.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!

I'm devastated. I knwo he'll still be here. But now the first thing we're going to do is fight. He wouldn't answer a single question, or get me a number, listen to my adivce, nothing. I guess he doesn't believe me that they're lying about 90% of what they said and did.

Now I've got to leave my home at 11 (with a 2 year old in the back seat mind you) Drive 3 hours to an airport I've been once in my life 6 years ago, pick him up. Drive BACK another 3 hours. Then try to get an hour's sleep before my 2 year old wakes up for the day.

Sorry, just really needed to rant. I can't handle this right now. I really really can't.

hey relax,

be happy he is gonna be home

If it is an Air France code share, it is not Delta's fault. Air France was late, not Delta and although they are code-share partners, being late through immigration is not the airline's fault. Calm down, take a breath, and do what you have to do because every person still waiting (especially me) would KILL to drive 3 hours to pick up our spouses/fiancees.

Good Luck!

I agree...I would drive to the moon and back again to get to my baby!!! (L) It seems as though the OP has calmed down a bit. Once she sees her man, I am sure that all of this will be water under the bridge and soon enough will be doing some laundry for a week...lol

misskiya,

This is why it's important to arrange a flight schedule with adequate stopover time at the POE.

Yodrak

thanks guys, I hope I can laugh at this later.

ps- the only people that missed the flight, were those going through immigration with him. Not just customs but IMMIGRATION. So you can see where it struck a nerve.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
