Can somebody explain to me please why we are waiting months (sometimes years) for AP when officially it should be complete within 60 days according to US Department of State site: http://travel.state.gov/visa/a_zindex/a_zindex_4353.html.

Am I missing anything? How to hold embassies and consulates accountable for overdue AP time?

Well i guess yeah you are missing something here .

It says :

About Visa Processing Wait Times – Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants

Information about nonimmigrant visa wait times for interviews and visa processing timeframes are shown on this website, as well as on U.S. Embassy and Consulate websites worldwide. It should be noted that the “Wait Times for a Nonimmigrant Visa to be Processed” information by country does not include time required for administrative processing. Processing wait time also does not include the time required to return the passport to applicants, by either courier services or the local mail system.

the 60 days does not include time required for AP .

Good luck and i hope that you will hear good news soon .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Hm...It does not say "the 60 days does not include time required for AP". I read "Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview."

i think the keyword is "most", giving the embassy leadway if it is taking them longer to complete the AP. i wish it was a catchall to know that no matter what, 60 days is the deadline.

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

He is home!!!

Thanks. I'm not that dumb. This page (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html) links to the page I mentioned above. It seems many applicants here prefer to wait months and think it's normal.

There is nothing you can do about AP. If you are or will be on AP, DOS will take time for AP..but how knows will be very short time or long..No one has that info. Good Luck with your Journey.
