Hi,

recently the NVC has give to me the appointment in the Madrid US Embassy for the final interview of CR1, but since December I am in USA with my K3 (that expires in 2011), now studying, and expecting the Social Security number.

I would like to know, if is still possible to change my address to do the interview here in USA and avoid to move to Spain for it, and if it is possible how I do it.

Thanks

visa interviews only occur in foreign countries.... since you are here you do NOT need another visa. If you do not want to go to the interview for another visa, then simply file an I-485 and adjust your status here.

YMMV

No. You can only interview for a visa abroad like pax said. Either you travel to Spain for your interview and avoid the hassle of Adjustment of Status; or you file the I-485. Which one is more cost effective for you?

I suggest you make the CR-1 interview in Spain.

Sooner or later, if you don't, you'll have to spend 1010 to get the PR stuff anyway - so I suggest to go, spend the monies now for the CR-1, instead.

Is no concept of 'visa interview' in USA - instead, is 'Adjustment of Status'. In your case, will be adjusting TO a Permanent Resident with GC, with a big set o paperwork with the I-485 plus more stuff. Since you already have that interview date set, I suggest you go, instead, and get the CR-1 wrapped up in Madrid.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
