Hi Everybody,

It has been 8 yrs since I sponsored my brother back home for his I-130. In these 8 yrs, 4 yrs ago I changed my address and notified immigration of my new address. Today I went online to check the status of my brothers case and it stated that they sent out a letter to my address on September 25, 2009 regarding further notice and need of documents for the case. But I never received any documents from them at all. I called up the toll free number and the address that they sent out the letter was my previous address and I changed my address 4 yrs ago and now I dont know what to do. Is there any expiration because the notice online says that until the required document is received this case is in suspension. I called the toll free number and they said this case has been denied since there was no action taken. I want to know if the letter was mailed out September 25th, and its only 3 months now can the case be denied in such a short notice even though it was not my fault since I changed the address. However, I know what has happened has happened. What is the best course of action now, will this have any effect on my brothers case being delayed further and how long will it take to bring it back on the right track. I appreciate your help.

Call NVC and see what they say.

Also call your senator and have them check on it.

infopass appointment, bring all your documents to show you changed your address and prove you never got the letter. Prove that its an error on their fault for sending to the incorrect address when you had updated it with them.

Bottomline is!

Call your senator/congressman and find out which one has a GOOD person on their staff that handles immigration problems.

At the same time get a Infopass appointment.

Plus call NVC as that's where the paperwork is processed.

I'd call NVC first.
