i have a question for a fellow filer..

this person is currently on b2 visa, married to us citizen.. i 130 has already been filed and is currently filing i485..

HOWEVER.. the NOA from i130 has been misplaced.

can a duplicate be requested and how??

or should the filing be done w/out the noa and uscis might be able to verify it in their system?

[07/15/07 Met RG on vacation in Jamaica

07/27/09 He proposes on one of his visits here

08/07/09 We are married!!!!!

AOS from B2 visa

09/03/09 Completed medical.. all clear!!

09/21/09 Sent off I130, I485, I131, I765.. YAYYYYYY[/color]

09/23/09 package received

09/28/2009 all 4 NOA's printed (received on OCT 1ST)

09/30/09 checks cashed!

10/05/09 receive biometrics appt for 10/28/2009

10/13/09 walk in biometrics.. !

10/26/2009 receive interview letter for NOV 30th 11:30!!!! PRAISE GOD!

11/06/2009 receive advance parole papers.. no email, no updates beforehand..

11/16/2009 After 2 WEEKS of checking the mail thinking the EAD and AP come about the same time, we get the "card production ordered" email for the EAD.. better late than never.. thank you LORD!!!

11/19/2009 receive another email stating "card production ordered"

11/23/2009 receive EAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11/30/2009 bittersweet interview, but WE ARE APPROVED

12/02/09 social security card in mail

12/04/09 receive "welcome" letter in mail

I can't answer your question about requesting a new NOA but I hope next time, whatever document you receive, make copies of it by scanning or photocopying.

I would call. There is no way I would pay for a NOA.

I would call. There is no way I would pay for a NOA.

You might get lucky - I have seen a few people get a free one sent - but most likely - they will require payment...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I lost my I-130 too. When I called, I was told i could request one for a fee. But I don't see any reason, why one would request to replace an I-130 NOA. No need for it if you know your Receipt Number. Thats all that you need. I never requested for its replacement. I extracted my NOA receipt Number from the Check that I sent with the application and used that for for further filing till my I-130 was approved and subsequently the I-485 too.

06-xx-06 --- Tamy moved to NY with USC Father

06-xx-07 --- Tamy became USC (before she was 18)

08-10-07 --- Tamy came back for her Grandmother's funeral(spent endless hours together)

09-19-08 --- Visited NY for my Grandmother's funeral(Spent endless hours together) don't get any ideas

01-09-09 --- Tamy visited Ja for two weeks of endless bliss

06-16-09 --- I came to NY for vacation

06-xx-09 --- Got married at city hall

I created an account on USCIS.GOV and printed the last updated I-130 notice from there. Attached that to my I-485 and there were no problems. The I-485 was accepted. Your I-485 was returned because it is based on the I-130. And they need proof that you have applied for it. Let me know if you need any more help. i already replied to your PM. Good Luck.

So i was asked to send the I-130 NOA or other evidence, so i guess the receipt number along with a printout of the case update should be good enough. i hope to hear from them soon
