Can somebody please, please refer me to headhunters or companies that will sponsor H1B visa or TN's for Vocational Counsellor, Social Worker or any related human services field in the U.S?

I have a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice and an almost completed MBA as well from in the U.S... My OPT expired and I had to pack up and go back to Canada before the 60 day grace period. I only have desire to work in the U.S. because of the opportuunity available in my field. There is not much here in Canada and have been doing agency work for almost 3 months now..

Someone please help or refer me somewhere as I really want to work in my field and have been looking like crazy for jobs with no success!!!

THANK you very much

Thanks for your reply.

My advisor only referred me to companies she was familiar with in the local area. I did my volunteir hours with them but no luck in hiring me. I persoanlly went to comapanies to hand in my resume and applied for many many jobs on the online. With monster, career builder and even the comapnies I researched that weren't hiring.

Just would finally like to catch a break.

So to answer the question, yes!

Sorry to say this but if they aren't hiring then your chances of finding a company willing to offer you a job and sponsor your visa will be slim to none.

I wish you well in your endeavors and certainly hope you can prove me wrong but just think you should be aware that it's not easy to get sponsored

Have you considered a TN visa? It allows you to work in the US for up to three years, and it only requires evidence of a job offer but not sponsorship which I think will probably be one of your biggest hurdles

The job market here is bad, there are a lot of people competing for every job out there. Many companies stop recruiting during the holidays, I know where I work stops hiring Nov-Dec because key people are taking holidays and they are cheap and don't want to give holiday pay to a new hire. That being said there is a hiring bump in Jan. This is typical so look hard right after the new year. Many companies prefer applicants that are looking themselves. Some see head hunters as a lazy mans job search. In a tight job market there are so many resumes that they have some clerk throwing away a lot o them to narrow down what they look at. The do it based on a list, no colored paper, no head hunters, no degree whatever lets a clerk toss big parts of the file. You are probably better off scouring sites yourself. I would try the county websites for your desired location I tried my area and see a couple postings.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for reply... Believe me, I've been doing that and then some. I'm just frustrated because I feel I done everything and still nothing. But don't county websites only hire citizens and reidents?
