What should I do after filing I130?..please help

Hi All,

My wife filed I130 on Nov 24th 2009 and we received the NOA1 (I797c) on Dec 7th 2009 stating that our petition is pending at CSC dated Dec 1st 2009. Is it advisable to continue filing I129F (K3) now. Whtr it is quicker than CR1 through I130. I chked the processing time in USCIS site, it says the processing time for both I130 and I129F is 5 Months ( as of Sep 30th 2009). Whats the difference and whtr it is true that K3 process is faster than I130 process.

Your replies would be much appreciated.....

For very few consulates would I recommend filing the K-3. When we filed, I-130/I129F petitions were being approved 6-8 weeks after the I-130 petition. So from my experience, no it is not faster. The K-3 visa is slow, expensive, and obsolete. Stick with the I130 and wait it out

Right now it will probably only save you 3-4 weeks overall if that. The CR-1 is far superior to the K3. I have read where you may actually lose some time when applying for the K3. I was going to apply for the K3 until reading on this site. In the end it will cost more for the K3 because you have to adjust status or go back to your wife's home country to get the CR-1. (this is from my understanding on how the K3 used to be faster...you could have your wife with you while waiting the CR-1 or IR-1 visa....I dont know if any of that changed since i last read about it)

Right now you wont gain very much time over the the CR-1.

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.
