Hi vj'ers,

We haven't received our NOA2 yet but i'm wondering if I already can request my police certificate.Or do I have to wait until right before my interview?

I would like to get as much prepared as possible before the noa2.

In the Philippines, the police clearance is valid until six months from the date it was issued. Check your country's police clearance period of validity. I secured my police clearance on August 16 this year and on August 25, the NOA2 arrived.

Have a fantastic weekend!

In BR the PC is valid for 6 months but the consulate accepts up to 1 year. Send the embassy an email and check with them.

Good luck!

The police clearances I think are good for 6 months but this may vary between countries. Check yours.

Good luck

Most police certifications are valid for 6-months/1-year and since your timeline indicates you're about due for adjudication, I think you could start putting it together. It all kind of depends on how long it typically takes a particular country to issue one.

I waited until I received NOA2, then I apply for police certificate. I make big mistake. In Malaysia, police certificate process took 1-2 months and I received my packet 3 extremely fast. Not much people applying for K1 Visa in here anyway. My police certificate is ready 3 days before my interview and it is scary because I have to go to Ministry of Foreign Affair, Malaysia to collect it. If I waited for them to mail it to me, it'll take 1-2 weeks for me to receive. My advice, just apply it earlier.

get it sooner than later... even if you wait and the reports expire, you are in thier system (hypothetically)

Emmett Fitz-Hume: I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. I had to stay till the very end, and I found out I received nothing... broke my arm.
