Hello,

I am starting to collect my evidence for the interview from the past few months and for the future months. I am still on my parent's cell phone bill. Should I include a letter from the owner, my mom, to the embassy stating that I am the user of xxx-xxx-xxxx phone number? (It shows over 500 texts to him a month so I would like to include this evidence especially)

On the phone bill it only shows the last 10 digits of my fiance's phone number- should I also include a letter stating that those are the last 10 digits and if you add the country code you would have his whole number? or is that something the embassy would be use to seeing?

Thanks for an advice!

I would just highlight the relevant calls with a highlighter.

Yes, highlight the calls, but also procure the letters. You're dealing with a consulate in a high-fraud country, so overprepare (compared with other places) and take NOTHING for granted.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I was also wondering about this. My fiance has had his phone number since he was 16, but his Mom had to open it for him. So, the bill for his line is in her name, but is sent to our apartment's address. The number on the phone bill matches the phone number he has given on all the forms we submitted to USCIS, so won't that be enough proof? Also, my phone number (which the embassy now has, because it has been written on the readiness to be interviewed form) shows up several times on each of his bills, the circumstantial evidence is pretty strong to show that those two numbers are his and mine, right?

Thats basically the problem I have, phone since I was 14...its cheaper to stay on and 'sublease' on their bill. I guess I will have my mom write the letter- its a simple thing that could hurt us at the interview- so why not prepare it then have to wait for another interview!

His number is on the documents, the thing is in Ghana they can buy SIM cards on the street their is no way of registering his number to him, its on his forms but what does that really mean? My fiance has been trying to get something but cant find anyone who will certify something showing its his number.

(Alex and Astrid) If you can get proof (bill or something else) showing it is YOUR number it would help, I think.

Yes, yes, yes!! You write a letter/note about the ownership of the line and the owner doing so as well. I'm on a family plan and simply explained that, as well as highlighted all of our calls. It was no problem at all. ALWAYS over prepare and keep everything VERY neat and organized!! If there is anything "iffy" to you, like you can't get proof far enough back, write a letter explaining yourself. Good luck!
