I am thankful to be able to read and write messages here with all of you. All of your experiences are very helpful for me during this most impossibly difficult waiting period. My coping mechanism is to work all the time, which is what I did this weekend. Still, I am having a very difficult time waiting right now...I miss Irina more and more each day and I think of her all of the time. I have never wanted something more in my life...I just want her here with me. Every Monday Irina and I hope that it will be our week to receive the approval from Vermont, but every week we are disappointed yet again. Initially, I thought we were lucky to be sending our petition to Vermont because they were moving faster than the other service centers...now, they are almost standing still it seems and it is very discouraging to us. I know that all of you feel similar to this, it is just helpful to me to speak about it because I do not have close friends that I can speak with about this. I speak to my co-workers about this process, but I am not close with any of them, so it is not very helpful. I am glad that I can talk to anyone here, I wish that we were closer geographically...I think we would meet frequently and drink Rum

Jim

Yes Va. is not far from the Captain and myself.. about 4 hours as the Parrot flies.........

I told you you would start drinking after a short time aboard this ship of drunkards...

Jared brought more Rum on board before we set sail this morning.. So feel free to pour yourself a drink.!! I need to take it easy for a few days... Really got hammered between Friday and last night.

things will get better Jim, as each day goes by we are that day closer to getting our NOA2, and to think we will soon be with our loved one and this process will be a destant memory. I have set my sights a little further a field and try not to get to caught up in the weekly but more so in the monthly at the moment i am focusing on april and hope that will be my month, but anything sooner would be great, just allows me to get through the upset of being apart, and so far it seems to do the trick. I have also started talking to someone else from england that is going through the K1 process and am finding that to be a great help as we are both around the same age and around the same process time. I guess i have it easier to as i get to focus my time on those that i will be leaving behind and therefore get to make the most of that. I know the SO is having a harder time then me as he gets in to his empty flat each night after work and i live with my parents.

this board has been a great help to so i thank eaveryone for keeping me positive, now lets hoist those sails and carry on with the sailing...any rum anyone i found some hidden below deck

Yeah I had a crazy weekend as well as it seems alot of us Dec. guys had. On friday my dog was very sick and today(monday) around 8am I had to put my beloved 13yr old pit bull Madison to sleep. She was suffering from liver failure and was just a matter of time before she passed. So my family and I agreed it was the best thing to do for her. So on top of waiting for Laddawan and for my NOA2 to be approved...this happens to me!!!! Can anyone say extra rum for the Texas guy???lol Sorry to be a downer guys, but just thought I'd share a little piece of my personal life other than this crazy journey we are all on. I'm trying to stay positive and upbeat but its hard...the one thing that would help would be approval soon, lol!!!! Oh well, on ward and full speed ahead toward a brighter future for us all, take care guys!!!!! :star:

Today made 3 months for me too. I can't believe that California Service Center is faster than Vermont. I would have never thought I would be waiting this long. Hopefully I can get approved by Friday because I heading back to Colombia on Friday night. ( Wishful thinking).

I would like to give her the copy of the original package I sent , but with no approval yet, I don't know if I should wait.

I wanted to visit my fiancee in Colombia last month, but couldn't because she couldn't find anyone to work for her. It is probably best that I didn't because I plan to go with her to the interview. If you plan to go to the interview, which I highly recommend, you might what to wait...it is going to get pretty expensive after your NOA2. I am hoping to schedule her interview sometime in May.

Aye mateys...I plundered another keg of rum, so drink up!!! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So sorry to hear about your loss, Matt. Wishing all the best for you, and hopefully you soon find solace in the flood of relief an NOA2 will bring. Until then, there's always your VJ family (hugs!), various methods of communicating with Laddawn, and, of course, the ubiquitous rum aboard your fair vessel.

2 March 2010: NOA2 (116 days)

8 June 2010: Case transferred to CSC

10 June 2010: Biometrics completed

31 July 2010: EAD and AP received!

9 Sept. 2010: RFE email for AoS

(RFE for medical. We replied with letter stating that it's not required since done overseas within one year)

Thanks everyone for your advice. One question...what other fees are there besides the $1,010 for the AOS? I also know about the Visa fees at the embassy, medical exam, etc. I just wanted to know what other fees there were other than the AOS, thanks!

Matt,

I am sorry for your loss, brother.

I feel you, I really do. Couple of years ago my cat, who was only a couple of years younger than I, passed away. He was 18. That was akin to burying a family member.

So we stand here with you, in a moment of silence.

No jokes. No BS.
