I went my entire life (almost) thinking G-d couldn't possibly love me and He is waiting to thunk me over the head for my every day screw ups. But forget all that....just read The Book. The devil loves to put excuses into our heads.

See the bible is another thing that is confusing to me. It is a book over 2000 years old. I cannot help but believe that it has been altered or misinterpreted since then.Even with modern technology facts and stories get distorted and bent out of context. I think there are very good core values and lessons but I have a hard time with this concept. This is my own cross to bear (pun intended).

I honestly wish I could find the comfort that some do in reading the Bible. It has been a while since I have read it. I should probably read it again.

what I hate are the bad interpretations

like when the Spanish & Portuguese Catholics used the bible as a pretext to enslave Africans and natives in Latin America. Cause they were "saving" them from their pagan ways. Yeah let's make them die from being overworked in gold mines and whip them or hang them when they don't listen. God will like that.

It happened here in America though too, although the Brits didn't use the religion excuse 100% of the time.

Some of these kid shows are really retarded, I'm sorry. I can't watch this Lazy Town BS. They're a bunch of freaks from Iceland with strange hairdos and stretchy clothes. I told my kids to change it and put on Sesame Street.

There are lots of study Bibles out there. Maybe you can pick up one cheap at a used book store.

Make that your goal for the New Year. You could read a chapter a day or even a verse a day.

Doesn't matter how old the Bible is...G-d says in there that His Word never changes nor will it ever die. I don't think G-d is a liar.
