Have to grocery shop today. I decided not to buy chips. Im getting off those things! It's not the weight I worry about but the old ticker ....don't need any more cloggin' than what's already there.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Morning Commies...

...I'm still trying to wrap up my 2009 work, which should have been done already and was done already, until my point-hair-boss dropped a bomb on me yesterday morning...:protest:

...but, I think I'll have it wrapped up by noonish today and then I should be done for the year!

How are the C4C Peeps today?

...and of course, blessings to the thread :innocent:

Good morning, Bishop. Look like you don't have to deal with PointDexter until next year!

Apostle, believe me every fibre in my body is screaming for chips. It's really bad at night.

yes, i believe you did :) our church is fasting every wednesday and friday for the month of january.

Beloved and Blessed HermanaK-ji...why is your church fasting on those days for the month of January? Just curious :star:

The Bishop LOVES a great fast! When I lived in India I was vegetarian for a year...but didn't find 'anything' in that, if you know what I mean...it was just kinda the 'thing to do' while in India...

But...I have still love a great 1 or 2 or 3 day fast. Plus, for the Season of Lent (the 40+ days leading up to Easter) I always fast. I don't eat meat or drink any alcohol etc...considering that this fast runs up to Easter, I have always found that to be very beneficial from a spiritual aspect.

Om Shanti Om!

hi staashi.

bishop, it is just for prayer and consecration of the new year. for whatever comes our way. this year is different. we usually do the 21 day fast from all animal products. which to me is harder than simply not eating. being a vegan is very hard. i am very happy (understatement) that my wonderful husband is extremely non-vegetarian

I hope you are doing especially great, Staashi!

Bishop, although there is nothing in the Word that specifically instructs us to fast, our dear Y'eshua fasted and even said, " When you fast...." ( Matt 6:16). I think I need to call a fast to listen for G-d to speak, to draw me closer to Him and to pray for some miracles not only for myself, but for others whom I have been praying for who also need a miracle. Reminder: fasting does not serve to change G-d's mind, speed up His answer or manipulate His will.

 fasting is never for God, but always for us. there is nothing that we can do for God, although some like to think that they can strive to reach. but always failing.

Yes, I am guilty of that, too.

Fasting is a way to 'detach ourselves from our self'...in this manner it is a proven way to empty one's self and thus open up a space which is void of bodily concerns, and in which the Spirit will naturally dwell. This is why I fast.

However, in my first few years of attempted fasts...it was more for my own curiosity and interest...only after years of fastings efforts did it yeild any value...spiritually speaking.

Peace!
