White House fails to secure State dinner from intruders

No, but Obama could be the first president in history that needs ZERO security. Why would the terrorists want to kill him?

I guarantee you it's not the "brown people" his security is watching out for. It's the rebel-flag-wavin, pickup-truck-drivin, good ol' boys from the US of A that have 'em on high alert.

It remains to be seen who is responsible for this breach, but there is absolutely no credible information Obama had anything to do with these people getting in to the State dinner, in fact it appears that would be the least likely scenario. This situation is completely at odds with the Clinton situation, there is no comparison to be made beyond both being Democrats.

Obama greeted these people, who had gone through SS security as guests, because they were at that point, for all intents and purposes apparently invited guests. That is the only logical assumption that can be made without further facts.

Security of the White House is the sole responsibility of the Secret Service. What a stupid argument.

yeah, really. I am sure the other government agencies under the direction of Obama are doing a much better job. I trust them. Don't you?

just ignore stuff like this. Really stupid. Why would anyone draw a paralell, I mean you KNOW they are doing more to protect US than the President. get real people! These are DEMOCRATS, and LIBERAL Democrats to boot. You KNOW they care much more about us than themselves! This only happened because so many other security people we protecting US they forgot all about the President.

And, besides, when the next party crasher walks right up to Obama and shoots him, we can always blame the easy accessibilty of firearms in this country, that would be the reason you know.

It's one thing to get past the security of the Rolling Stones on tour but this couple not only waltz into an Obama State dinner affair, they were actually greeted by the Smiling President in the receiving line.

It's funny to imagine but also a bit scary to think what could have happened, had our sworn enemies pulled the same stunt..... not only gain access to the President but be close enough to kill or injure him with the simplest of objects.

Man, and to think that there were several security breaches when W was in the White House. Serious ones at that, including a live grenade thrown at Mr. Bush and a stowaway travelling on AF1 for a couple of days. We're just so much better off without him - obviously, he couldn't be trusted to keep the country safe.

Then-Director Brian Stafford commissioned the review in 2001 after the service was humiliated for a third time by the most notorious presidential gate-crasher, Richard C. Weaver, who evaded inauguration security to shake George W. Bush's hand.

In May 2005, a man outside the presidential security zone threw a live grenade within 100 feet of George W. Bush in Tbilisi, Georgia, but it failed to detonate because it was wrapped too tightly in a handkerchief. In July 2003, a stowaway traveled with the White House press corps without credentials for two days from South Africa to Uganda, causing Air Force One to be searched when the subject claimed on arrest that he had brought weapons.
