Mounir,

I am sorry about your delay. I am not sure exactly what is you don't understand but it sounds like your applicaiton is in AP. From what I have read on VJ it is quite normal for Cairo to put applicants into AP/AR. Don't despair, I am sure your time will come soon!

Call the DOS and ask them the status of your case. Once they tell you that you are in administrative processing, ask them if it an internal administrative processing or if it's name checks.

You will need your case number when you call. This way you will know if it's DC name

checks or if it's something that the embassy is doing.

It sounds like you are in name checks in DC.

I hope you have a short AP.

Waiting.....Waiting....waiting....waiting....and more waiting..........

They can be doing more than one thing at a time, but it's most likely your case sat still (where ever it was in the process) until they got the information they requested (her divorce papers)... They may have then spent some time authenticating her divorce papers, and then resumed processing your case, from what ever point it was at when they stopped it pending the provision of the divorce papers...

Nothing is fast or not much is easily understandable in this process.

Not much they will tell you, and it doesn't really matter what they call it, you're not finished yet. And as long as they aren't waiting for something that YOU or your SO is supposed to send or do, then waiting is all you can do, except politely make inquiries about the status of the case to make sure it hasn't fallen off the track...

Hi bro

first off i don't want you to believe everything the clean version of hell ( USA embassy in Cairo) say .they always giving us false hope and they lie to us cause sometimes they don't want you to argue with them .they told me 2 weeks and here i am still waiting since March!

Lets talk about administrative processing or administrative review .

• What is Administrative Processing?

AP is also called Additional Administrative Processing and is when the applicant is being checked more closely. It can be for security checks which encompass fingerprints and/or name checks or for document verification.

• When does Administrative Processing Happen?

AP can happen at any time during your processing. It can happen at a service center, at the NVC level, or at the embassy level. It mainly is discussed here in the forums at the embassy level.

• Who can get Administrative Processing and Why?

AP usually affects men and women from certain countries but anyone can get AP. Persons coming from T countries (Terrorist Countries) seem to have more security checks and have to endure AP at the embassy level after their interview. Common names, your nationality, religion, education, relationship of applicant, travels and job can all be factors for AP. Having incomplete or missing documents will also cause a case to be put in AP. In some cases if the embassy does not believe in the validity of the relationship they can investigate it further with a field investigation.

• What are the T-Countries?

Although it is classified, the list of countries reportedly affected by these restrictions includes, but is not limited to, Afghanistan,

Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Djibouti, Egypt,

Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya,

Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia,

Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates,

and Yemen. http://www.abil.com/articles/ABIL%20...0Wolfsdorf.pdf This list is complied from an attorney and the list of T-countries can change at any time.

• Can I check the status of my case?

The embassy will not in many cases respond to emails until a certain amount of time has elapsed. The best bet is to contact Department of State aka: DOS and ask them for an update bi-weekly. They will not be able to give you details but they can tell you if the case is still pending in AP or cleared.

• DOS information:

DOS can be contacted Monday through Friday during business hours. You must have all information concerning your case with you so that they can assist you.

Department of State’s visa Information phone number: 202-663-1225

• Can I expedite this process?

The simple answer is NO. No one can expedite the checks since they are considered a matter of National security. An elected official can only make a congressional inquiry on your behalf. They cannot get the checks finished any faster.

• Does AP have any time frame for completion?

NO AP can last anywhere from days, weeks, months and in a few cases years.

Anyone that happens to be given a 221(g) or Administrative Processing letter must be patient and let them do their work. Do not call constantly and ask about your case. Remember each time your case is moved it can then end up at the bottom of the stack and your time can be extended. Each case is different so you cannot judge your case by any other and each consulate/embassy may have a different average time for completion of AP.

And as i told you before its so much different than consular officer review

Consular officer review or final review its the same step before they issue the visa .it means that the consular officer in charge of your case is reviewing your case to make sure that everything is ok before they issue the visa .

I hope that we will hear good news soon bro before the holidays .

Be patient bro its just matter of time .

Have a nice blessed day .

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

From what I am reading it doesn't sound as if they are not telling you the truth. I think it is just hard for you to understand their normal process. They wanted more documents. Before they sent it to AP they verified the documents. That is why they said it is waiting for review. Once they verified the documents they followed their next process, which is AP. That is why they told you it is pending AP. They don't multi task on these. lol

Anyway what you are going through is pretty normal stuff. Nothing to panic over.
