misdemeanor class c of larceny

hello,

I was convicted of a misdemeanor class c of larceny in march 2005. And in jan 2007 i was granted permanent resident through marriage even with my record.I was honest with it and had a copy with me wich i gave to the immigration judge. Now i just applied for my citizenship. Do anybody thing i should be worry? Or is anybody has been through a similar case?

crimes involving moral turpitude should be given 5 years to cool off before naturalisation proceedings. theft (larceny) is a CIMT. you may not get thru the interview with a crime such as this that is less than 5 years old. you may be given a deportation order, instead. maybe you should wait a couple of years, and keep your nose clean in the meantime.

Yes you have a LOT to worry about.

Before sending in any paper work I would consult with an attorney to see what your options are. You would hate to spend $675 dollars to be told " Sorry at this time you don't qualify." Good luck.
