How long should I wait on biometrics appt?

As you can see from my signature, we applied for my wife's AOS back on September 21. While she's already received her AP documents, the AOS is still sitting at the CSC and she's still received no word on her biometrics appointment after 1.5 months (still nothing on EAD either). Should I call the USCIS to find out what's going on with the biometrics, or is this normal to still be waiting this long for an appointment?

What's considered a reasonable timeframe is 2 weeks. The average is typically less. If you are approaching 1.5 months and no word on your Biometrics appointment, the recommendation is to contact USCIS via the Customer Service line. Was there a recent change in your address?

The average (between NOA1 and Biometrics appointment) is in the 30-day range so you're a little over the average but not likely too far away from getting a notice. I'm assuming there are no problems with your address or getting notices (since you got the AP and NOA1 for AOS). Wouldn't hurt to call just be prepared for the (usually) lenghty menu-hold-menu-hold call.

Now would be a great time to fill in/create a timeline btw - this will not only help you but help others as well. :time:

Maybe I'll give a call on Thursday then. There's been no address changes recently as we've lived in the same place we did when we filed for AOS, and we've obviously received the previous NOAs.

Yeah I guess you have to do that. 1 1/2 months is long already.

I thought biometrics was necessary to get Advanced Parole. Am I wrong?

Apparently that's incorrect, because we received our advanced parole paperwork a while ago and still have no biometrics appointment. But then again, people told me the EAD should arrive with the AP, so maybe USCIS is all screwed up.

Called the USCIS customer service number today. As reported in previous posts, the only way to get a live person is to choose the selection that you want to change your address (should be #3 from the main menu). When they finally come on and ask you if you want to change your address, tell them "no," that you want to inquire about a biometrics appointment that is late in arriving. They were very polite and helpful.

They took down all of our information and initiated a "service request" to get our biometrics appointment sent. That's all there was to it. Now we'll wait and see if it arrives shortly. My wife is taking off to Russia soon for a visit to family (utilizing her AP of course), so we're hoping her appointment doesn't arrive then.

Take a look at the immigration timelines link at the top of the page. There are stats there that might be helpful. Good luck

I did my biometrics yesterday. I still had one more week until the scheduled biometrics appt. The field office security and staff was amazingly friendly and quite helpful. Needless to say all went well. In and out in perhaps 5 mins.
