No More Muslims in the U.S. Military

Date: 11/6/2009

by Bryan Fischer, AFA Director of Issues Analysis

It became evidently almost immediately that the mass murderer in yesterday's killing spree at Fort Hood was a Muslim who was motivated by jihadist impulses.

Nidal Malik Hasan had told fellow soldiers that the Muslim who killed two recruiters last summer in Little Rock, Arkansas had done the right thing. He spoke openly of his belief that the Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq should rise up and fight the aggressor, by which he meant the U.S. military of which he inexplicably was a part.

He wrote blog entries urging jihad, entries which six months ago attracted the attention of the FBI. Bizarrely, its investigation was closed, he was allowed to continue serving in the military, and as a result, 11 innocent soldiers are now dead, cut down in cold blood on one of their own bases on U.S. soil.

It it is time, I suggest, to stop the practice of allowing Muslims to serve in the U.S. military. The reason is simple: the more devout a Muslim is, the more of a threat he is to national security. Devout Muslims, who accept the teachings of the Prophet as divinely inspired, believe it is their duty to kill infidels. Yesterday's massacre is living proof. And yesterday's incident is not the first fragging incident involving a Muslim taking out his fellow U.S. soldiers.

Of course, most U.S. Muslims don't shoot up their fellow soldiers. Fine. As soon as Muslims give us a foolproof way to identify their jihadis from their moderates, we'll go back to allowing them to serve. You tell us who the ones are that we have to worry about, prove you're right, and Muslims can once again serve. Until that day comes, we simply cannot afford the risk. You invent a jihadi-detector that works every time it's used, and we'll welcome you back with open arms.

This is not Islamophobia, it is Islamo-realism.

And don't give us reassurances about the oaths that Muslim soldiers take to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Hasan took that oath, and it proved meaningless. In fact, the more devout a Muslim is, the more likely he is to lie to you through his teeth, since lying to the infidel to advance the cause of Islam is commended, not just permitted, in the Koran.

It's time we all got over the nonsense that all cultures and religions are equally valid or worthy. They most certainly are not. While Christianity is a religion of peace, founded by the Prince of Peace, Islam is a religion of war and violence, founded by a man who routinely chopped the heads off his enemies, had sex with nine-year old girls, and made his wealth plundering merchant caravans.

And just as Christians are taught to imitate the life of Christ, so Muslims are taught to imitate the Prophet in all things. Yesterday, Nidal Malik Hasan was simply being a good Muslim.

The military is not about social engineering or diversity or multiculturalism or about proving what open-minded people we are. It's about being ready to break things and kill people so that Americans can sleep securely in their beds at night. The mission is too important to be compromised by enlisting possible jihadi warriors and giving them the weapons and training to gun down our own soldiers and paying them all the while.

The barbarians are no longer at the gate. They're inside the fort, and it's time for the insanity to stop.

What a complete toss-piece that guy is.

The AFA has a long and proud history of being wrong on just about everything. They're anti-gay marriage, are considered by the ADL to be anti-Semitic, among other things.

And here's what they had to say in the aftermath of the VA Tech massacre...

On April 16, 2007, following the Virginia Tech Massacre, the AFA released a video titled The Day They Kicked God out of the Schools, in which "God" tells a student that students were killed in schools because God isn't allowed in schools anymore. The video claims that the shootings at Virginia Tech, Columbine, and many other locations, are the result of, among other things, decreased discipline in schools; no prayer in schools; sex out of wedlock; rampant violence in TV, movies, and music; and abortions.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Fairness for All, Including Muslims

Elijah Friedeman, the Millennial Perspective

When I heard about the Fort Hood massacre, I was immediately fearful of anti-Muslim sentiments spewing forth from Christians. My fears were realized. Mere hours after news of the shooting broke, I began to read and hear Christians chanting the mantra ‘kick the Muslims out of the military.’ I was immediately, and still am, repulsed by such views trumpeted by many Christians. Not only are these views antithetical to the acceptance that Christ exhibited, but ideas such as these go against the very values this country has been built upon.

It is important to remember that Nidal Hasan was one man who committed a heinous crime against his fellow soldiers. If we use the actions of one person, or even several people, to penalize the rest of any given group, we are entering extremely dangerous territory. When abortionist George Tiller was gunned down by an anti-abortion activist, pro-life leaders were quick to condemn the attack. Pro-life activists everywhere said they shouldn’t be penalized because of the actions of one man. And they were right.

The same thing has happened in this instance; Muslim leaders have condemned the shooting by Hasan and distanced themselves from his ideals. Why then are we in the pro-life community not willing to extend the same courtesy that we asked for? The actions of one radical shouldn’t be enough to penalize the whole group.

As a pro-life activist I am disturbed by the prospect of being accused just as the murderer of George Tiller. Likewise, I find it abhorrent to punish all the brave Muslims serving in our military for the actions of a single radical.

Think for a moment if the tables are ever turned. What if several Christians were behind shootings? Would Christians call for Christians to be kicked out of the army?

We should not be at liberty to suspend our values, principles and laws simply for the sake of expediency. We must cling to those principles we hold dear, especially, in this instance, equality and justice. If we suspend our principles for a minute, we will regret it. Principles, laws, and values are not made and held to be given up whenever convenience dictates. No, we should guard and protect our principles no matter what. For without these, we are no different than anyone else, being swayed by the latest sentiments.

In the play, A Man For All Seasons, Sir Thomas More is told by William Roper that he must arrest a man, though More has no evidence. More refuses to go against that which he knows simply for his own benefit.

Roper: So, now you’d give the Devil the benefit of law!

More: Yes! What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?

Roper: Yes, I'd cut down every law in England to do that!

More : Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man's laws, not God's! And if you cut them down, and you're just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!

If Christians go on a witch hunt against Muslims in the military, it could come back to haunt them. We cannot make radical decisions with impunity. Ideas and actions have consequences. These consequences will be realized if we support expelling Muslims from the military.

Are we willing to pervert and even forget our principles, our laws, for expediency’s sake? If we are, then down the line we will reap the consequences. I for one believe in equality and justice. Hasan should be prosecuted for his actions; but those who are innocent should not be charged with acts that they would never dream of doing. Instead, we should thank them for allowing us to sleep securely in our beds because of their brave actions.

The barbarians are at the gate, but thanks to the selfless efforts of our soldiers - whether Christian, Jew, Atheist, Wiccan, or Muslim - we are still safe.

So here’s a shout out to all of our armed forces. Thank you. Thank you for protecting all of us, even those who would kick you out.

Keep up the good work.

That would violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Besides it's the Muslim extremists that deal in religious exclusivity- not us. Ironically, one of soldiers killed appeared to be a Vietnamese-American (not sure) and one could argue he couldn't be entirely trusted with the article's reasoning yet there was no ban on Vietnamese-Americans serving during the Vietnam War.

Whose/what criteria would be used to determine whom is a "jihadist" and whom is a "moderate" Muslim? There are all sorts of Muslims and degrees of practice among us. Without a central body, there is no authority to say who is a good Muslim or who is not, an issue commonly debated even among Muslims. Jihad is a tenet of Islam, but it is normally defined as a personal struggle to be right with God, according to His Word. Sharia is the primary law we follow to achieve the moral and spiritual balance that is required of us.

I hear alot from the ignorant about keeping Sharia out of the US, but all practicing Muslims practice sharia in numerous benign ways that dictate how we pray, how we marry, what we eat, etc. Sharia is God's law, interpreted by man, and is analygous to the Amish, Catholics, born-again Christians, or Jews following God's law, as they seek to please God. Barring Sharia would be an effective way of barring Muslim practce, but it is also unconstitutional.
