My interview is next week, and I have to bring some documents for that:

1. interview letter

2. Green card

3. Any evidence of Selective Service Registration

4. my passport

5. marriage certificate

6. spouse's birth certificate

What is Selective Service Registration?

Any idea should I just bring a copy of what I've already sent in?

Were you between 18-26 years of age since receiving your green card? If so you are required by law to register for selective service. Selective Service would have sent you a registration card and number. This is the proof that you need.

Were you between 18-26 years of age since receiving your green card? If so you are required by law to register for selective service. Selective Service would have sent you a registration card and number. This is the proof that you need.

But basicaly...

The selective service registration is a card and a number given to permanent resident and citizen MALES BETWEEN AGES 18-26....

It is required by US law, which states that they enlist in the military if ever they are drafted by the US government in a time of such need.....

Lol..So if you are a male between 18-26...you have to register for such, and show proof of such for the interview....

If you are female and/or not between 18-26...Then you don't have to show proof of such, as this would not be required of you....

AOS Timeline

08.26.2005: Married in State College, Pennsylvania

11.14.2005: AOS and EAD applications received at USCIS

03.10.2006: EAD received (114 days since submission)

06.17.2006: Green card received (241 since submission)

Removal of Conditions Timeline

05.28.2008: Sent I-751 to Vermont Service Center

06.04.2008: NOA1 received

07.05.2008: Biometrics completed in Houston

03.27.2009: Ten year green card approved

Naturalization Timeline

11.09.2009: N-400 package mailed to Lewisville, TX

12.18.2009: Biometrics done in Houston

03.01.2010: Passed interview

04.07.2010: Oath ceremony

My interview went ok. Fairly straightfoward -

Officer was very nice, Professional and Courteous. Went through the whole application and asked me all the questions on the N-400, She was ticking and

writing notes with a red pen while she was asking the questions.

When the N-400 got over, she gave me a line to read and a line to write, Then the Test,

Questions were relatively easy

1) WHo wrote the declaration of independence,

2) Name the major poltical parties,

3) What is political party of the president,

4) One state bordering Mexico,

5) Name 3 of the 13 original states,

6) Who is the commander in chief of the military

She said I passed and she is recommending my application, she also said that a written decision would be sent to me regarding my application after her supervisor reviews/approves my file.

Hello,

I'm the new kid on the block :).

Great forum- it is a shame that I "discovered" it sooo late in my own visa journey!

Would somebody mind putting my info in the list as well? My friendly field office is Manchester, NH.

My timeline is as follows:

11/2/09 mailed application to Lewisville TX Lockbox

11/5/09 cashed check

11/9/09 received NOA

12/2/09 Fingerprinting

12/12/09 Interview letter

1/13/10 Interview done- now waiting for oath letter
