So I know which doctor handles the medical examination here on behalf of the Embassy.I´ve been wondering if I should make the appointment myself knowing how long it can take to get one at an Icelandic doctor in order to make the wait for the interview shorter. Would the Embassy disapprove of that?

Although I'm a newbie, my advice is to go for the medical examination as soon as you can. You don't need any letter or evidence from the embassy in order to get your medical examination. This is not the case for the police certificate, for what you must present the letter with the Visa instructions that Embassy sent you. I don't think there is going to be any problem with the embassy.

But, lets see what the forum experts have to say about your case. Good luck!

June 17 2006 Mailed I-130 and all documents Embassy asked for.

June 24 2006 Found this wonderful forum!

July 12 2006 I-130 approved. Received Visa application/interview instructions.

July 24 2006 Medical Examination at Tokyo British Clinic (Only took 1 hour and 3 shots, Ouch!)

July 24 2006 Finger prints for Police Certificate at Consulate of Peru in Tokyo (a lot of bureaucracy).

August 27 2005 Got Peruvian police certificate. Applied for the Japanese one, which will take 5 days.

August 30 2006 Appointment Requested

September 6 2006 Got japanese police certificate

September 11 2006 Interview date

APPROVED!!!

Each country is different. Here in Canada, I was asked for my interview letter at the clinic.

Ingiogbecca, if you know where to go to for the medical in Iceland, you can try scheduling your medical very close to when you think you'll get your packet 3. This way, when you get it, you'll aready have an appointment with the doctor (but don't schedule it too early).

:time:

Good luck! :)
