This is for things we've seen in our travels,

In storefronts,

On billboards,

At train stations,

In restrooms,

In newspaper ads or headlines,

On product packaging,

On TV or any other media,

in other words, practically anywhere public.

So far I've been exposed to Jap-lish and Thai-lish,

but there are many more -lishes out there to be

heard from.

Extra points for a pic of the actual sign.

It can be a creatively misspelled word or a word

spelled correctly but misuesd in a sentence or phrase,

or something entirely new and creative, literally

translated from the home country language.

I'll start things off with something I've seen more than once in Bangkok:

My sister got a big kick out of menu at a restaurant in Hue that was loaded with hilariously bad translations. Unfortunately, she didn't get any pictures of the menu. The one that had her rolling on the floor was the "Corn and ####### Soup"!

... it was supposed to read "Crab".

Here's one from China. This would actually keep a lot of people off the planes...post-50710-1257518496_thumb.jpg

That's great. I have a pic of a sign (I forget what it said) from my last trip to BKK

but I have to sort through a few thousand shots to find it.

In addition to "alcoholics" I'm guessing "salt rifles" are also not permitted on Chinese planes on Tuesdays.

We're having a little fun here but what may be even funnier is what us foreigners say in Chinese, etc. that

makes all the locals politely smile...

Hey, this isn't Brazil - taken on my last day in Bangkok while in a traffic jam on the way to meet her son at Chulalongkorn University.
