RFE for Proof of Citizenship

Hey everyone!

So... I got an RFE for proof that the joint sponsor on I-864 is a USC. Well proof of status.

The issue I have is that she doesn't have a long version of her birth certificate or a passport. What she does have is an old school birth ceritificate. It is small but it has both parents names on it, I figure this may be because it is an original from the 50s.

Do you think this will suffice?

I will send it in also with her driving license copy and copies of her federal government ID. (She is senior management in a government agency.)

I also have an original record of baptism.

I know that seperately these don't count for much but together maybe?

Do I have any other choices? Anyone else been in this situation? Any feedback is appreciated.

can you just order a certified copy of her old birth certificate? that's what i would do

Her U.S. passport copy or BC will be enough. Or certificate of naturalization.

If LPR, needs similar proof.

From the I-864 instructions:

Proof of U.S. citizen or national status includes a copy of your birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, certificate of citizenship, consular report of birth abroad to citizen parents,or a copy of the biographic data page of your U.S. passport.

Turns out I didn't need the full birth certificate.

I sent a copy of Registration of Live Birth, 2 federal employee IDs and a certificate of baptism. This resolved the RFE so I guess I panicked for nothing.

I did order the certificate anyway and will take it to interview in case.
