Hi everyone,

I recently filed a k-1 for my fiance (NOA1 received 09-21-09) , and have a few questions. He is a Mexican national and so will have his interview in Ciudad Juarez, as I understand it.

1. Can anyone tell me if the interview is in English or Spanish? can you choose? My fiancee does not speak English, should we worry about that?

2. I have been told that I cannot enter the consulate when he has his interview, is that true? Is there not a waiting room or something where I can be, while he is being interviewed?

3. I don't really trust the mail system to deliver the packet to where he lives. I've read through a few posts and it looks like I can just download all the forms online if he doesn't receive them. Will I get a copy of the interview letter?

Someone will correct me if im wrong but, you will need to provide a translator for the interview.

If he plans on becoming an american citizen he will need to learn to speak, write and read english as well.

Yes you can download all the forms if he doesnt get them, generally the beneficiary gets the interview letter, if he doesnt get one he can email/ call the consulat.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Doubtful, unless there is something special about the embassy in Mexico. The interviewer will likely be fluent in Spanish & English. You should check with those more familiar w/ this consulate though.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

He will get the spanish version and you have the right to be at the interview with him. If the consul finds it necessary, you may be asked to wait out side or to be interviewed by a separate consul. But yes, you can go with him and stay with him all the way to the end.

oh, and they don't send you any forms with packet 3...packet 3 is simply a piece of paper which is your open appt letter *very important to keep, you will need it to enter the consulate: but no worries, you can get one printed if you don't recieve it* .... as for the forms, they are listed here:
