Art Co-op inside a World Famous Barn

My Mom and I went yesterday to this world famous place that I live just 15 minutes away from in Uniontown, Washington. I had no idea all this time! It's called Artisans at the Dahmen Barn.

It's an Art Co-op inside a Barn and apparently they have people who write grants for the locals who just want to go live out in the wilderness and create their art. It's amazing what they do there and it looks like a fun place! I think they had ten local professional artists studios in there and a section telling the history. They have attracted famous artists and photographers from all over the world. I didn't buy any of their art but I did buy some of their local food items like Cowgirl Spicy Coco mix and Hot Banana chips. I didn't go for their WSU labeled BBQ sauce but it would have been fun to see UI labeled BBQ sauce there because we're two Universities only seven miles apart.

What made it famous is a side profile picture of the white barn in a snowy landscape contrasting against its fence which is made up of antique wheels welded together. You may have seen one of a series of these photos as it's even on restaurant walls in China.

I check online but I couldn't find the snowy landscape pictures I've seen at places. I saw the originals on the showcase wall at the Barn and they are fantastic!

I did see some photos on the wall that looked like this art below.

They wouldn't allow photographers without permission but it was a neat place to find and I would have loved to have done a field report on it. They are even having a Halloween shindig tonight and they are bringing in this celebrity blues grass band.

I think he meant that they are like the Amish in that they reject societal norms and find ways to live the life that they want to. I haven't seen exactly how they live but judging from their studios inside the barn they seem like a highly talented and professional community where they each have a home to go to somewhere.
