from my understanding about the tourist visa is that you must sho w strong tiessssssss to your native country and if you applied for the k-1 now,,,,,, it shows you have ties to usa ,,which is your fiance, so the tourist visa would be dismissed,so my advice is ,,, forget the tourist visa, it will take awhile to get , even ifffffffffff u get it, also u would have to come back to your country and apply for k1,, meaning leave the love of your life and waiting and waiting,,, so i advice, in a nutshell. dont do tourist visa, invest your money, mind and time, in k1  best of luck to you!

Actually, it took 2 weeks for my fiancee to interview and receive the B-2 visa.

well, that's a quick one but i'm not sure if its the same here in my country. its gonna be hard for me since i don't have much strong ties here. i dont work but i have a property. i'm currently self studying for my state board since im a nurse and my parents and brothers are in the states. i don't know if a bank statements and a property would help...

You don't have strong ties to the PI and your parents/brothers live in the states. Will most likely show intent!

 Although the property and "soon to be acquired assets of Peso 500,000 or more" might help...Maybe....

Agree! Maybe?

that was nice. i wish i could get mine approved. yeah, my fiance and i have met already and he just left the country. he was wondering if i could spend the holidays in the states thats why he told me to apply for my B2 visa. we're done with our k1 package he just need to submit it..

If you have sufficient ties/assets in the PI, as described above, you will be approved. Do you have substantial ties to your home country, in terms of assets, house, job and so forth? If so, proceed with the B-2 and apply for the K-1 after your return. If not, halt the B-2 and go for the K-1.

Edit to add: Chris_Жанна: Different country = different core requirements. It is not as simple as you describe.

Your right the PI is a high fraud country, and like you said "different core requirement". What are you going to say at your interview, when ask your reason for the visit to the US?

well, im gonna tell them that im gonna visit my fiance hometown and relative for the holidays... what do u think?

And yes the FSU has very high fraud areas too, hence the core requirements for a tourist visa are most likely similar.

Did you pay the interview fee yet? If "yes" go, see what happens. If "no" I may hold back on the b-2. With no job the consul may think you are seeking illegal employment in the US. Plus if you say "fiance" this can raise flags too. As much as I hate to agree with the big bad mod. I'd have to say you are best just going the K-1 route. If your circumstances were different I would say "go for it".

Good luck whatever you choose to do.

i am not disagreeing with you entirely, just offering a more practical and realistic solution. Given the circumstances presented, a K-1 is the best course of action at this stage. Anything else is a high risk proposition.

I can only tell you my experience with the embassy in Manila, when I was going thru my daughters CRBA. This was before I started my wife’s CR1 visa, I ask the interviewer if it was possible for my wife to get a visitor visa, and was told that we show to much intent regardless of my wife’s money property and so on. You have family and a fiance in the US maybe tuff? Just my experience and my two cents worth.

Best of luck

Pretty cool that William33 deleted/edited my posts. Fascism anyone? Why was one of my posted removed? Nothing that violates the TOS in it. I wrote to Ewok about William33 abuse of power with his MOD position. Please, if you read this know that William33 will censor you if you disagree with him. Very mature.

Moderation on Visa Journey is very lenient. That said, insults to moderation will not be tolerated. It not only violates the TOS, but the purpose of the website; which offers accurate and useful advice.

Your one-off case is not the baseline...The collective information is what makes this site successful.

Yes moderation on VJ usually is lenient.

I offered a thread that had cases similar to mine but you deleted it....... Whatever, I wrote Ewok about you. I'm sure I'm not the first or last you'll bully or marginalize with your status.

Where does the collective info come from?????? Individuals William....Think about it.

The subject post was insulting to the website and was deleted accordingly. In my 7,000 posts on VJ, my integrity has never been questioned.
