that was nice. i wish i could get mine approved. yeah, my fiance and i have met already and he just left the country. he was wondering if i could spend the holidays in the states thats why he told me to apply for my B2 visa. we're done with our k1 package he just need to submit it..

If you have sufficient ties/assets in the PI, as described above, you will be approved. Do you have substantial ties to your home country, in terms of assets, house, job and so forth? If so, proceed with the B-2 and apply for the K-1 after your return. If not, halt the B-2 and go for the K-1.

Edit to add: Chris_Жанна: Different country = different core requirements. It is not as simple as you describe.

As far as Tourist visas are concerned Russia is by no means a cake walk and will take the pepsi challenge on b-2 denial rates with the Philippines. Yes, the fiance visa is much harder to obtain in the Philippines then in Russia. To obtain a B-2 is just as hard in Russia for a young, single, woman under 65. Zhanna had to bring all original docs for all her assets, income, social ties, professional ties to her B-2 interview and they grilled her pretty hard at the interview. Not simple, no. It can be done.

Agreed, but extremely difficult. Allow the board moderation advice here, as I have seen hundreds of cases and advise accordingly. Read my posts above.....

from my understanding about the tourist visa is that you must sho w strong tiessssssss to your native country and if you applied for the k-1 now,,,,,, it shows you have ties to usa ,,which is your fiance, so the tourist visa would be dismissed,so my advice is ,,, forget the tourist visa, it will take awhile to get , even ifffffffffff u get it, also u would have to come back to your country and apply for k1,, meaning leave the love of your life and waiting and waiting,,, so i advice, in a nutshell. dont do tourist visa, invest your money, mind and time, in k1  best of luck to you!

Actually, it took 2 weeks for my fiancee to interview and receive the B-2 visa.

well, that's a quick one but i'm not sure if its the same here in my country. its gonna be hard for me since i don't have much strong ties here. i dont work but i have a property. i'm currently self studying for my state board since im a nurse and my parents and brothers are in the states. i don't know if a bank statements and a property would help...

As a Moderator of this board and a member of over 3.5 years, I have tried to offer you solid advice. If you choose to follow the short sighted advice above, you will be disappointed...See my advice above, which is a culmination of 100 threads like yours...

i hear ya! so, what your trying to say is forget the payment that i made for my B2 visa and just proceed to K1?

Do you have the significant ties to the PI? e.g. Assets, home, job and so forth? If not, cancel the B-2 and go for the K-1. You stated above that you do not meet those requirements and therefore, will get rejected. Go for the sure thing, K-1.

Edit to add: Property and assets are very good proof. Do you have substantial assets and property value?

That amount of cash and the property should close the deal on a B-2 tourist visa. No guarantees, but a positive state for consideration.

I wish you the best.

Excuse me? "Short sighted advice"?

Great, your the Mod on this board, pulling your seniority and rank means you can pigeon hole other advice??? Way to play that authority card guy.

the OP is an adult and can discern these "Solid" opinions on her own.

I was offering advice from my personal experience with this. My S/O and I have been successful in obtaining a B-2 and making trips post NoA1......So obviously, I must be misinformed according to you.

Why would she want to wait apart from her S/O if she could have a chance at obtaining a visitor visa???? when she could get the B-2 go to America send the petition while she is in the USA and wait for approval from USCIS/NVC what exactly makes this advice "short sighted" ????

Unless you are some weird sadist that enjoys being separated from your fiancee, why would she just opt to sit and wait for adjudication alone?

Your opinion holds no more water as a fact then mine. They are both an opinion, there is no reason to make my advice seem inferior to your great sage wisdom.

Your comments about my advice are rude and out of line. (And you're a Mod?) I'm disappointed as a Mod you can only have one opinion that is yours.

Pretty cool.

I hope this isn't a trend that continues......

For clarification and had you done your homework, I have seen hundreds of cases like this. If your case were riding on one person's opinion, versus a seasoned member/moderator with 3.5 years experience, you may think differently.

In our case, we waited 9 months for my fiance's arrival due to IMBRA in 2006. I relied on seasoned VJ members for advice, as opposed to one success story, like yours.

I suggest you learn about "global immigration" prior to foisting your opinion here.

We try to help people with practical and realistic advice.

Regards,

William.

Your right the PI is a high fraud country, and like you said "different core requirement". What are you going to say at your interview, when ask your reason for the visit to the US?

You don't have strong ties to the PI and your parents/brothers live in the states. Will most likely show intent!
