Hello everyone,

I got my Choice of Agent form in the mail. I'v been on the computer the last 2 days figuring out how to do electronic filing. My interview will be held in Montreal. I emailed them with my information and i also mailed a hard copy. So fingers crossed that will do it.

Now, my concern is that i didnt get AOS with this Choice of Agent letter. Seems like others got both at the same time. Can anyone shed some light on this?

2/14/13 checks cashed $420 x 2

4/3/13 RFE more divorce info requested and marriage certificate(which I had already sent)

4/9/13 mailed additional info

4/19/13 I130 approved

5/10/13 NVC received

5/16/13 Called NVC and got Case #s and Invoice ID #s

5/17/13 USCIS website states: Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again.

5/24/13 Paid AOS ($88.00) fee online

5/30/13 Emailed I-864 package for both kids

6/3/13 paid IV bill $230 x 2 kids

6/5/13 IV bill shows paid, DS260 available

6/14/13 CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS ARRIVED!!!!

6/14/13 filed online DS-260 for both kids

6/16/13 emailed Supporting docs for DS-260 for both kids

7/9/13 CHECKLIST for both kids...sad.png

7/9/13 checklist response sent (birth certs and passport Bio Page <again>)

8/2/13 CHECKLIST both kids

8/3/13 checklist response sent (I-864 AGAIN and paystubs - sent last 6 paystubs)

8/28/13 ***** INTERVIEW SCHEDULED***** for 10/9/13

9/11/13 Medicals completed in Toronto @ Dr. Seiden's office

10/9/13 INTERVIEW APPROVED

Did you ever call NVC and give them your emails? It saves a ton of time. You do that when you get your NVC case #.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Well i just called NVC. gave them our email addresses. The woman said I will get IIN and AOS at the same time. And it could take 2-4 weeks before they receive my DS 3032. I emailed the DS3032 and mailed a hard copy .....so hopefully i am fully covered.

SO, you did step 1 for OPTING IN - to get the paper-based casefile number.

You gonna prep for step 2 ? to actually send the right DS-3032 , signed, to NVCMontreal@state.gov ?

My apologies if my wiki page seems tedious - but...

to have 'shotgun effect' for the ds-3032 will delay your case considerably, if you are converting to 'electronic processing'.

Have a look , at least, at the speedbumps section - you've just stumbled into one of them (now please tell me what you intend to do about it? )

If you hover your mouse over that link, and click it - it should bring up the NVC Electronic Processing Wiki Page - let me know if it doesn't bring it up, when you CLICK the link?

i copied the DS3032 email and filed it out and emailed it to NVCMontreal.

Do you think i should scan the copy i got in the mail and convert that to PDF and email that?
