How much evidence should one send?

When filing the AoS, I am wondering if I should send them all the proofs I have, every single bit of paperwork. Or should I wait until we go for the interview. I know that they will still schedule an interview with us, because of the overstay, but one would think that interview might go smoother if the IO has all the documentation needed.

This skipped my mind. Should we add pictured with the AoS package, and if so, can we send them photocopies? For example, most of my pictures are digital.. so I can just print them out and write a short description.

Send everything that you have now. You may not get an interview if they review the documentation and feel it is strong enough. Regardless, by the time the interview arrives, if you get one, you will have even more documentation to bring with you. You want to make it as easy as possible for them to make the 'right' decision so make your case with the application.

Yes, you can include captioned photographs - I just printed out photos on regular paper instead of photographic paper - that seemed to be fine.

Thank you Kathryn! That is what I figured as well, but I wanted to see what others did.

One thing tho, with the overstay, if I present enough evidence in the AoS package, you think they might not do one? I figured they would specially because of the overstay. At any rate, as you said, I will have a lot more evidence by that time... but it sure would be nice if they didn't.

I'd put money on you getting your wish.

But yeah, it is actually nice to be able to present everything you have. We didn't send a lot with our application but we didn't have much at the time. They really liked our photos at interview.

I may have mentioned this already but we have much greater overstay than you do and we were never asked about it.

Yup, you have mentioned something about your overstay, but I really don't mind you repeating yourself! Makes me feel a thousand times better about our situation.

I have to admit that I AM very nervous about the interview (and really, the whole process), but mostly because of the consequences if we are denied. But, as you've said, and as many have said, once the EAD is received, it lets you get so much more proof; bank account, driving license, hopefully work.

Kittyfang-send them everything you have. I am sure it won't hurt your application.

It seems like some people didn't send the proofs and they had an interview, some people send proofs and they still had the interview, and some send proofs and they had no interview but GC in the mail.

Hard to tell how USCIS works...But you never know, like Trillium said, you might get your GC in the mail!

We actually had our interview notice before the EAD came. It didn't give us much time to do much although my husband was able to get his SS number. It came so close together that we decided to just go with the evidences we have and wait for the GC to try to accomplish much else.

Seems like the processes are going pretty quickly, just wanted to give you an idea of time frame. Feel free to check out our timeline.
