Hi guys,

I just found out today that our I129F was approved by USCIS!!!! Yay!!

But this brings up many questions.

How do I find out that the NVC received everything, is there a website for us to check the status online?

I have heard that instead of waiting for Package #3, just to send out the fax, how does that work?

Where do I get the form to fax to the Consulate?

Also, what are the next fees to be paid?

Hi guys,

I just found out today that our I129F was approved by USCIS!!!! Yay!! Congrats!!!

But this brings up many questions.

How do I find out that the NVC received everything, is there a website for us to check the status online? There is no way to check in on line. You can call them and they will give you your new case number. Their number is (603) 334-0700 press 1 and then 5.

I have heard that instead of waiting for Package #3, just to send out the fax, how does that work? For me, I went under the forums under my region and there were links to the embassy that we posted on there and I was able to find out what forms were needed for the embassy. I would not mail anything to the embassy until you know that a packet 3 has been mailed. However, there is a lot of other things that you can get done now. The petitioner needs to get a lot of information together for the beneficiary and you can start getting that together. The forums and embassy website can guide you in that direction

Where do I get the form to fax to the Consulate? I am not sure about this...check the embassy website

Also, what are the next fees to be paid? There is a fee for the application that will be paid at the interview. It is around $131.00. Again, check your embassy for that information. On our end we have to pay $14.00 to have the visa mailed back to us as well but I am not sure for your region.

I hope this helps...

I am just a little ahead of you my friend and will tell you what has happened so far for us.

i received a letter from the NVC stating that they received the approval of eligibility from the USCIS. The first bill is $70 and you will have to send in DS-3032 choice of agent and address form. I know that an choice of agent and address form was sent with the USCIS form but another one has to be completed since it is with a different agency i suppose. I paid for and sent that form in this month as of October 6th. Amazingly 20 days later on october 26th i receive another request for payment. This one is $400 which is the IV fee and i have to send in the I-864 affidavit of support forms which i will sent tomorrow via Fed Ex. I sent the first set of documents Fed Ex as well. So that is where i am at, just two or three steps ahead of you. Concerning the website, the only thing that i have found so far is the payment online section, but that is not eligible until you receive your first request for payment because you will need numbers from that form to enter into the payment site with. I am not familiar with the faxing of packet three. I hope this helps because it can be very confusing. A friend of mine went through this with him wife about 7 years ago and he thought he was all familiar with the process and forms. Just from then to now things have changed dramatically. i will just be very happy once i have my wife with me and to be done with all of this. Please if you just let me know how things are going for you in the process. You may come across something that i could learn and we can help each other if and when it is needed. Take care and i wish you all the best of luck..paul

The OP should disregard this post, as it pertains to the IR-1/CR-1 spousal visa process, not the K-1 fiance visa process.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

This site does not allow you to check your status at NVC. It is only for the USCIS portion of the process. The only way to check the status of a K-1 petition at NVC is to call and talk to an operator: K-1s are not generally entered into the automated system, so attempting to obtain your status through the AVR will result in a "case not found" response.

THIS PAGE WAS HELPFUL FOR ME during my process:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=k1flow <- check this out before continuing ^_^

i posted the message below in another thread but since u are already approved with ur petition, id like to share this with you as well:

at this point.you have ample time to prepare everything ;) you have to gather ur paperworks:

- PROOF OF PAYMENT (visa application - for Phils, it was $131, not sure with urs)

- PASSPORT. You must have a passport valid for at least six (6) months

- birth certificate

- certificate of no marriage (if never been married) of benifiaciary

- PROOF OF TERMINATION OF A PRIOR MARRIAGE (divorce decree, annulment decree or death certificate, etc.)

- police clearance of all countries you have lived in since 16 yrs of age

- COURT AND PRISON RECORDS: Applicants who have been arrested, charged or convicted of a crime must present copies or transcripts of court or prison records relating to the crime or offense

- evidence of having met within the past 2 years (pictures, his / your boarding pass to visit, receipts while together, etc)

- evidence of engagement (receipts of gifts you bought for each other, emails, snail mails, phone records, photographs

- VISA PHOTOGRAPHS

- medical examination @ accredited hospital in your area (do a lil research, idk about ur place lol XD)

FORMS available for dload at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/forms/forms_1342.html

DS-156 NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION (2 copies)

DS-157 SUPPLEMENTAL NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION (2 copies) <- once you pay for the application fee, the bank will give you ONE copy of this form, with the receipt attached and a stamp on the back of it. make sure you keep the receipt attached. this will be one of the 2 copies you will bring with you during the interview.

DS-156K NONIMMIGRANT FIANCE(E) VISA APPLICATION ( 1 copy )

>>>> EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT <<<<

A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

(about the evidence of support and his income tax return, it will be asked from you during the interview. right now, have him prepare his ITR, prepare the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT AND HAVE IT NOTARIZED, FEDEX it to you. PLEASE dont use USPS. i had horror stories about it lol)

i had a bit of struggle only on "proof of engagement" as i was not sure how to show that we communicate regularly - we only used skype to call each other, we dont email on a regular basis, we dont do snail mail...so i printed out receipt payments from paypal for our skype credits, my facebook emails with his mom, a few pictures and the receipts and boaring passes that we had. the consular officer asked why i pay for skype, he was like "i thought skype was free, why pay for it?" and i told him "well, you can get credits with ur CC /paypal so you can make international fone calls on a cheap rate.. then he only looked at 6 out of 15 pictures i presented then said "congratulations, your visa is approved" then handed me my pink slip :D

good luck and i hope this saves you a lot of time for gathering ur paperworks. i was rushed coz i didnt know about all these other things and i had to reschedule my interview coz i knew i wouldnt have the paperworks ready by then.

you are just on NOA1 and you can never tell if they will request for further evidence (RFE) before issuing you with NOA2 but its good to have all your papers ready as early as possible, so you dont have to cram LIKE I DID -_- lol ! good luck and let us know what's up!! :)

P.S. they only asked for the affidavit of support and Income Tax Return, but it wont hurt to have his W2 and employment certificate; bank record handy. they might ask for it! good luck !! <3

I am a little confused what are these fees for? I called NVC and they already forwarded the package to bogota colombia.

Those fees are incurred during NVC processing for an I-130 petition. Disregard - it's NOT the same petition type as yours.

Seriously.

Disregard.

For now - set up a calling pattern into the DOS call center - get a human, give them yer new case number (that you got from NVC call center ) and ask about status.

Once the status changes to 'case file opened' - then expect a P3 packet to be sent out to the beneficiary .

GOOD LUCK !

Nope - I didn't miss it, Mystic Heart - My post was about rcems543's post, not yours. Your caveat was clear. His/Hers , whilst GREAT for the CR-1, was obviously not about the OP's petition type, impossible to address the question in a usable fashion. Happy Thursday !
