Not to really make flames or anything, but I'm kind of surprised the US doesn't have some sort of limit as to how many people can come from what country per year.

To make it more fair for other countries, or something.

Ummm...

Quick question here... I'm going to send this with our case number and names and D.O.Bs on it. Is this okay do you think? Or are they going to throw our file into the furnace???

I swear it reads so nicely and way more concisely than yesterday's version...

LGG

I don't mind sending it without our info -- it's not like I expect them to pull our file form the stack and such so....

Ok, my Husband has just taken my letter to mail.

Rhiann, I don't really understand what you are saying, do you mean family based visas should have limits?

Yeah, I think I meant that.

I'm not sure myself exactly what I meant.

I think it was a "semi in anger @ the other countries #s compared to Canada" post

lol

Well that's what I thought you meant - but I don't see the logic - I can see that the Canadian U.S. consulates should be doing more interviews - but I don't see how a limit on family visas would accomplish that.

lgg - pic of your application a week from now:

But seriously, with or without that info is just fine in my opinion.

Yeah...the thing is there are no numbers at all for our types of visa's so its not really like they are getting in more ppl compaired to us for any reason other than our consulate is slow as molassus (and that again, fewer ppl are trying to leave Canada) so putting numbers on it wouldn't help I don't think, it would just mean that they would get less people into the country on K1's and such where we would still have the same amount of ppl and retardedly slow times. The thing that gets me more is that higher traffic countries with only one consulate to do all the visas still manage to pump out more than ours does. You would think they would be glad to push us through quickly to get our money for AOS and the visa fees faster.

I'd be careful. They can't very well just throw your file away, but it will almost certainly be added to it, and you'll be questioned as such at the interview. Further, it may make it into your USCBP file per someone else on here who filed a similar letter, so it may be brought up at the border every time you cross.

That said, they may just find your file based on your name alone anyway.

That picture of Woodstock and Snoopy was cute.

It makes me want to go camping... or have a fire. It's cold in here.

I've decided to send it SANS information. It's still all under my maiden name and I am now using my married name for everything including this letter.

I suppose I COULD be found if they wanted but it's such an innocuous query, I doubt they would even bother, you know?

It's more of a lament than anything...

Yes but we also have to be careful not to get paranoid. If no one puts themselves on the line a bit for this then absolutely they will not hear us.

There has to be a famous quote about this somewhere!

Sorry, I'm sick so this is all I could think of. The filing room at the USCIS reminds me of the end scene of Raiders of The Lost Ark, everything is filed but no one bothers to figure what exactly is filed. I know that they kept losing Mom's documents, 3 times seems a bit much, but my brother complained to them so maybe lgg and Spoom are right.

Actually I have a vague recollection of sending some complaint letter to Montreal at some point, prior to my Husband's approval.

I posted the reply here at some point.

Anyway, didn't hold up our case and no record of it at the border that I know of.
