military spouses and the War

Hi guys,

My hubby is on active duty in the US Army and I am watching everything in Iraq and Libanon and arount that area very concerned. Last Year in February he returned from a 1 year rotation from Iraq and I am very concerned that he might have to go to WAR again. He will be in the military for 2 more years. ANyone in the same situation? How do you deal with that?

It is so cruel that people down there need to fight to solve problems. Why cant they just figure out something less violent? They destroy so many families, not only the Soldiers but also many many innocents.

I think about it often.....but as I am powerless to do anything about it I have decided not to drive myself mad...if it happens, and it most certainly will, I will deal with it when it happens. It is his chosen career and all I can do is support him in it.

Well, I don't have to worry about my hubby being shipped out because he's long done with the USMC, but the other day there was an envelpe in the mail addressed to him From the USMC. He looked at it and said "oops, they found me"

Turns out it was just a mass mailer looking for recruits and not a direct mailer for recalls.

A few years ago (right after 9/11) they came knocking on his door to politely ask him to reactivate, but at the time he was recovering from cancer and couldn't go back. And now he's just too old and wouldn't pass the medical exam anyhow. Its a pain the ### that he's always sick these days, but a blessing that he can't be recalled because of it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone here who has loved ones in the service anywhere. With the state of the world lately, this cannot be easy.

best thing you or any other military spouse can do is give him your support. that means the most to him.

What CharlesandNessa is saying is absolutely correct! Please support your husbands. What they are doing is for every single American and for a lot of other peoples and countries. I am a United States Marine who did my six years and now there are others who carry the torch and protect us. I want to “THANK” all of our troops all around the world. We know all the sacrifices that you are doing for us and we appreciated!
