i have a REF from the consulat stating that we need a joing sponsor , and despite we have sent one but the consular said that this one is not qualified ( i think because 2008 tax returns were not enough ) but actually the current income is sufficient . so anyways now i am going to use my assets which are cash money that i will deposit to my bank account . this amount of money covers (3 times) the shortage beteween my wife's income and the 125% poverty guideline .

the question here is : does cairo consulate accept such immigrant's assets ??

Is there any way you can get a few years worth of tax returns from you joint sponsor? Or find a joint sponsor with a longer tax history? Three years should be good, and you can order tax transcripts online for the years you need...not too difficult to acquire them.

i have never heard of them using the beneficiary's assets as income, unless your SO owns and will continue to own a successful business from which he will continue to generate income? But i could be wrong about that...

Good luck,

hz

I've removed the duplicate thread :) so things won't get confusing.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

You cannot have two sponsors together meeting the requirement. One must meet it.

If your assets are enough alone to meet the requirement, you would need to transfer them to your wife because she (or a joint US sponsor) must meet the requirements - not you.

It sounds like you may need to find a different joint sponsor.

we are trying to get another joint sponsor but if we are not going to find one we will try the assets way , and i wish it will work as it's already exists in the I-864 (part 28) and the margin beside part 28 .

what would be the reasons for the consulate to decline the usage of our assets ??

thx for the good luck wish :)

if you have the latest version of I-864 form , kindly check part 28 and 29 and the margin :)

i wish they wouldn't mind using that .
