Is Marriage a GAMBLE or a BUSINESS CONTRACT?

"Neither"

Marriage a private agreement between a man and a women. This idea is often used as an excuse for unchastity before marriage. In the Bible a marriage always takes place according to certain norms of society and always involves other people who serve as witnesses. A marriage is an occurrence before God and before man. A Christian is obligated to abide by the laws of the society in which he lives to the extent that they do not conflict with the laws of God.

Marriage is not an invention of man. God instituted marriage. According to God's plan, man and woman together form the unit of humanity. A man or a woman alone is only part of an entirety.

"And the Lord God said, 'It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him'" (Gen. 2:18).

"Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said:

'This is now bone of my bone

And flesh of my flesh;

She shall be called Woman,

Because she was taken out of Man.'

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Gen. 2:22-24)

My poor husband is arrested without a chance of bail or probation. Marriage is the complete opposite of a private contract. It is a legally binding contract that requires the court and usually attorneys to undo. Have you ever known someone who has to annulment the marriage before she can marry the Kano who loves her? Takes over 100,000 pesos and two years to complete, and only then can the visa papers be applied for.

A private contract or an agreement in other words is when you agree to let your neighbor borrow your lawn mower, hehe.

I should have not highlighted that part so people won't misinterpret it and at least read the whole paragraph for my point.

Due to persistent public demand,I now present to you the issue and thus, take side.

Only death is guaranteed; therefore marriage is really a gamble, hopeful that it will work out for both parties to the contract.

NEITHER

Not a gamble because when you gamble you are not sure of winning or losing...when you enter into marriage you are SURE at that time and place ,this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life , you are sure that you have won.

Not a business contract per se because the latter has the strictest terms and conditions that both parties must follow.

In a way marriage is a contract but in a different sense because you commit to your vows but on the other hand you also find yourself accepting and loving the other person's faults and weaknesses. It is true that it will take a lifetime to know your partner and being married is an everyday adjustment, it is about making decisions, good or bad and from that you both face the consequences together , as a team, as partners. You find yourself bending forward or backward ( now dont take this literally :)) to accomodate your partner but sometimes you also stand your ground and say NO...this is what marriage is all about.

When I married my husband, I know I have won. I am still adjusting to his ways, even after almost two years of marriage but it is a very exciting and wonderful experience. I didn't gamble on him..I was sure.

Excellent :star: ..Should i say that marriage is a win-win situation

If you honestly think about it, marriage really doesnt benefit the man. The woman is the one who mostly benefits in a marriage, and the family courts have it biased in the woman's favor when the marriage fails half the time.

Yes, i would agree to that. Under the Court of Law Privileges are given favorably to women. It is because women are adjudged as the weaker gender. This statement can be proven and supported tracing back to our history. Yet,since women are now empowered, still minute(not even felt ) revisions of laws considering men were done.

Neither1 It is a comittment between a Man and a Woman where there is love between the two, and a desire to be as a couple. Marriage is a bond that is driven by a desire to work together in a relationship. This takes honesty on both parts, as well as a desire to advance the marriage in a positive fashion.

Finally..... someone with common sense....

marriage is most definitely a gamble..

No matter how much you know your significant other. You never know how your life together is going to turn out. The only choice you have is to live life and see what happens One thing i found out in marriage love is not enough.

Some people here will have happy marriages others here will get divorced the question is no on knows who's it going to be.

as forest gump always said "life is like a box of chocalates ya never know what ya gonna get"

When two people get married its like going to vegas and rolling the dice and crossing your fingers at the same time. lol

Neither…..

its a covenant…a promise and a cooperation with the one u love to help each other get into heaven

and an agreement for life, to be faithful loyal loving appreciative, etc....to the one u love and also a promise to God to help get each other close to Him its a uniting of two individuals (MALE AND FEMALE)

no gays or lesbians because that insults and offends the way of God and besides does a man and another man or a woman and another woman complement each other?

NOOO!!!...never
