Well, I've never been to Elena's Models. I only use vkontakte to talk to people I met in person.

Sure, there are some American gems. I wanted to write something pithy but after thinking about it, most of the American girls I dated were sexy, genuine, and fun. I didn't really go looking for a Russian girl. But I'm really glad I found the girl that I did.

i know everyone here has not dated solely russian or filipino or whatever women. we've all dated americans before. they were prob hot and perfectly suitable at that time. so it can be ridiculous when a member says they'd prefer their dead wife in heels over any american woman. i think some people just had bad experiences and looked elsewhere, or, like us and some others, stumbled upon a foreigner and loved them for them.

Hmmm. Not one of your finest posts, amberdima.

If you troll for stereotypes, you're going to get stereotypes. If you yourself re-enforce these stereotypes (the "men who bought their women at elenasmodels" comment, specifically) then you're really just insulting the vast majority of those of us out there who don't fit the stereotype. Sorry, but I'm with akdiver this time. Highly recommend you ask a mod to lock the thread so you can get back to normal conversation.

true. i posted out of anger. i try to be part of a community of people who fell in love with somebody from the same region to share experiences, get tips, joke and laugh, and instead i'm constantly insulted by thread after thread that turns into an american woman-bash. this is not a men-only forum. my original post was indeed out of line, but the goal was to point out the common theme that is unnecessary in VJ.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
