For the K3 visa HCMC does not accept co-sponsors. For the CR1 (I-130) a cosponsor can be used as the I-864 affidavit of support is filed, not the I-134.

Plus, the CR1/I-130 is a MUCH better visa. Green card upon entry into the US. With the K3 there is the added paperwork and expense ($1010) of Adjustment of Status.

Drop the K3 and go for the CR1.

Just wait for the I130 to get there, your timeline says they both got approved so it won't be long. Other CR1 folks can give you the exact way to pass on the K3 and go for the CR1.

K3 - I134 affidavit of support for the visa, I864 for the Adjustment of Status

CR1 - I864 affidavit of support

Your child will be a part of the USC petitioner household count. A co-sponsor would not count the child, just the immigrant and their own household members. IF the I-864 co-sponsor lives in the same house then they would do the I-864A that combines their income with the USC petitioner.

You may simply ignore all correspondence regarding the K3 case and press forward with the I-130 and CR1.
