sounds like a stubborn girl then... if she had the flu or something like it and could have went but still worried about the cost, isnt that worth your own life? I thought that doctors, or hospitals could or would take payment plans... surely she made some kind of money that even if she paid $25 a month to the doctor it would have been worth her going???

Where's my baseball bat?

Kimberly "Kimi" Young, 22, died Tuesday night Sept. 22, 2009 at University Hospital.

OXFORD — Friends say the Miami University graduate who died this week after reportedly suffering from swine flu delayed getting medical treatment because she did not have health insurance.

News of Kimberly Young's death Wednesday, Sept. 23, came as a shock to those who knew the vibrant 22-year-old who was working at least two jobs in Oxford after graduating with a double major in December 2008.

Young became ill about two weeks ago, but didn't seek care initially because she didn't have health insurance and was worried about the cost, according to Brent Mowery, her friend and former roommate.

Mowery said Young eventually went to an urgent care facility in Hamilton where she was given pain medication and then sent home.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, Young's condition suddenly worsened and her roommate drove her to McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, where she was flown in critical condition to University Hospital in Cincinnati.

"That's the most tragic part about it. If she had insurance, she would have gone to the doctor," Mowery said.

Miami grad did not die of swine flu, report says

Family of Oxford woman say she may have died of complications from viral pneumonia.
Staff and wire reports Updated 10:55 PM Saturday, September 26, 2009 The family of a Miami University graduate who died this week now says she did not die from the H1N1 virus, according to a Toledo newspaper.

The family of Kimberly Young, 22, of Oxford, previously reported they had been told by health officials she had tested positive for swine flu.

Young, who graduated from Miami in December and worked at a coffee shop and deli in Oxford, died early Wednesday, Sept. 23, after she was flown by medical helicopter from McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford to University Hospital in Cincinnati.

She would have turned 23 Sunday, Sept. 27. Her funeral was Saturday morning.

The Toledo Blade reported Saturday, Sept. 26, that Young’s family, of Wayne, Ohio, said she apparently died of complications from viral pneumonia.

Tests on a Butler County woman in her 20s who died this week were not positive for H1N1, according to the Ohio Department of Health, which did not identify the woman citing privacy reasons, the Blade reported.

Young, known as “Kimi” to her friends and family, graduated in 2004 from Elmwood High School in Wayne, and at Miami University earned a bachelor of arts in international studies and a bachelor of fine arts, while minoring in French and Spanish.

What was Gary talking trash about? Missed it?

Psssssssst zqt -

Gary shouldn't be talking trash to other cultures if he doesn't want a bit of it back in his face, you know?

Gary:

RJ is very jealous of your wife and well, RJ knows she envious of your wife so thus she attacks you will such silly rude remarks, any man from the USA that has been to Ukraine knows what you are talking about and well RJ is the very reason she probably had to go to the UK for hers because no USA man is interested in they typical USA attitude for a woman that she displays, fact not fiction. Comparing Alla to RJ is like comparing a Mercedes to a Lada!

Nope. Wrong again, but we are used to that. I went to the Ukraine Bride Catalog for Quality, not many of them are rich, so no money talking their. They had a special on Alla that month, slightly used, a couple of dings but low mileage for her age, great bumpers and fenders, small headlights but I prefer driving in the dark myself. I chewed them down on the sticker price and got a great deal...so far anyway.

So what's the going price for a used Brit nowadays?

About the same as you paid. Doesn't depreciate quite as much as your model, though. There's a nice healthcare return on the investment if you drive it back to its country of origin.

Plus it doesn't arrive in the US looking for flashy bumpers and fenders. It can get those over there nicely on it's own - thriving economy and all that you know.

OMG!@ ROFLOL!

I got my Thai at a poor discount...cost me tens of thousands but you know these "Orientals" are pretty smart about money and will make sure to get your wallet fast! They live several lives over so life is cheap and you can pay for a hit for $500 over there (no kidding). I paid up cause I didn't want my previous contributions to go towards my death.

Ukranians are hot BTW...like the newest Maserati model and peppy and can kick your a**, as well. I tried the Ukraine route but got scared (too much Russian influence and those people eat us alive) LOL!

(so, I think inbreeding was the cause of all this, really).....so tell us what countries have specials on wives? LOL!

I got the pig flu but didn't get treatment (in Thailand) cause I was worried about travel restrictions even though I wasn't leaving for 3 more weeks. THEN I went and got the flu here (thought they would cross immunity but noooo). I didn't go to a doctor here purely cause of money. In THailand I did visit the pharmacist several times (they don't play stupid doctor money games there; theyr'e like Costa Rica...sick? Get meds at the pharmacy...really sick? THEN see a dog and get the meds. Most stuff we know what we need just don't want to play with every doctor and "consultant" in a socialist system that wants to "protect the public" because God forbid we take a medication that may harm us. They don't prescribe alcohol or tobacco but they don't need a prescription and they kill more than everything else on the earth. Gov't is asinine!
