Bertie Mae is the USC.. and she stayed in the US because she has a daughter...

I can honestly say I didn't even think about healthcare when I moved to the US.. it was not a deciding factor at all.. I moved here because the hubby had a stable dependable job in the US...

Well, pardon a moi. Be that as it Mae. I agree, Canada is no place for kids.

LOL you can make jokes all you want and the prolem remains the same, but that's OK because you and Krikit already fled your country for the healthCARE here. see how it works?

 - I had two criteria for a husband. American and platinum health insurance. Once those two were checked off the list I fled my homeland. . . . . . very characteristic of Canadian women actually. We don't go for the fat bank-roll or fancy cars, we look at the deductible, premium and coverage.

I noticed that and actually lost my interest for the gold-digging American girls in Montreal. Ended up with a Ukrainian though who have much the same thoughts but demand, in addition, that their men be fantastic in bed.

Probably worried about Canadian health insurance. I thought I got a cross I was joking, maybe not. Canada is a great place, I go there often. even take the kids there.

Amusing how this topic turned into a Canadian vs American thing.

obviously because Canadians are jealous that USA has the best healthcare in the world..

All I have to say is, I have health care and I'll not go to the doctor if I get sick... until I HAVE to go.

I hate waiting for my doctor and she's not a very good one :P

She's known for asking what's wrong with you and throwing an expensive prescription in your face, insurance or not.

If you die of swine flu, Bertie will mourn you for 13.6 minutes

OMG.

You know I bet you are right. There are reasons Canadians flee their borders to come to the US for treatment.

And there are reasons obtuse US windbags flee their borders to find a Ukranian bride.

because of healthcare in Canada no doubt. Hey there are car-pools going to medical clinics in Vermont from Montreal, maybe you could hook up with one.

Nah. I don't have anything wrong with me right now.

My fiance has good medical coverage and I'm actually looking forward to being on it. There's alot of things I can get done down there that I'd have a hard time with... since my doctor doesn't seem to care much for her patients. Or that's how she comes off to me.

Not to mention I can't afford the expensive prescriptions she'd throw at me. I can hardly even afford the Gardasil shots I have to get.

Please educate me.

I'd like to be able to go to emergency rooms for free health care.

But somehow they ask for my name, SSN, address, proof of insurance and then! send me the bills.

Now, am I living in a wrong state or something?

Or am I supposed to assume a false identity?

What am I doing wrong????

It seems that the point goes over the heads of everyone that supports government health care (big surprise)

Healthcare cannot possibly be the issue here. This girl had access to health care without insurance, at her local emergency room. It would not have cost her a dime and the good people of this country would have picked up the tab. But she chose NOT to go to the free health care she already had. Would anyone suggest that WHO the health care was provided by would make a difference in her decision? daft.

The girl made a bad call in estimating her symptoms and died. Too bad, but no one's fault but her own.
