Credit Reports/Scores?

Maybe I'm lost here on this one why would I want a credit score of 0? I'd want a 0 if I never wanted or ever had a need for credit or wanted to pay out the ####### for insurance and a million other things that run off your credit score not just loans and credit cards. My current debt total is about $200 the score I have has been generated by not allowing myself to be shackled by the bank. I have every intention of staying out of debt but I can't ever buy a house with a 0 score or afford the interest rates with a 0 score so to have a 0 score is just wrong to me.

Don't get me wrong I'm no fan of the credit industry or the banks. I've no intention of allowing myself to be caught by them and every intention of using them in every way possible to get what I want. What I want in the next 5 years just might be a house and the logical bridge to that is a decent down payment and a decent credit history/score.

All right I’m about ready to go mad! How in this country do I get an actual copy of my credit report from the three agencies without paying out $60 or paying some other rip off website $20 a month? I just want to know my score the score they use to make up their mind. I don’t mind paying I just don’t want ripped off.

Some things back home were easier (at least last time I did it) I paid about $6 for my credit report from Experian.. a week later it arrived via post and that was it what’s going on over here? Why are there 1000’s of companies trying to sell me information about me!

Anyway the reason for all of this is so I can buy a car nothing fancy just a basic new car in the 14k range not exactly a Mercedes. I got shot down already on one attempt to get a loan and need to figure out what I need to do to fix up my credit enough before applying with another lender.

Where did you get 'shot down'? Bank? Car Dealer?

It's your credit report. Ask them to show it to you.

applying for credit can drop your score as much as 40 points (more or less depending on what your history is)
