If you dont have an ethical dilemma over it, Go to the local goodwill and buy a cane for 5 bucks or so... take it with you and they will not only give you a better seat and possible free upgrade but you can get on the plane early... I have not done this but a friend of mine does it all of the time...

Scott, I already order 3 canes for myself, my wife and my son. That way, we probably will get upgrade to First Class for sure :bonk:

I keep telling my wife that one day, when we make enough money, I would treat her and myself First Class tickets to VN just because hahaha ... I have even read in some magazines that in First Class, beside gourmet food and fine wine, you would even get complimentary foot massage from the flight attendants. Just massage though ... no tug :) hahaha ...

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

I priced first class one time to see if I could get it through on my expense account... 6-12k then I said well maybe business class... which was 4-6k

I stuck with my 1200$ coach ticket.... I can get away with 3 k maybe on a good day... but thats coach only so far...

So anyone booked a ticket for around the new year to Vietnam yet? How much is it? How much did you pay before?

Get the tickets now, they are way cheaper than they have ever been. Mine was only 700 and it was only 3 weeks ahead of time, If you wait the price might jump back up, but if you get in line now then it is golden. Also book through orbitz, this way if they get cheaper when it gets closer if someone books it cheaper they give you the difference. A friend of mine booked a flight about 6 months out and 3 months later he got a check from them, then about a month after that he got another, then I think he went on line to look just a few days after he got the second check and the price went through the roof and there was still a month or two before his trip.

the refund and change policy sux... I paid just over 700 a month ago and the same ticket today is close to 1500. I book through Orbits also and always compare the prices against other sites.. sometimes expedia is cheaper and others straight through the airline is cheaper... so do a bunch of research... Orbitz has a tool that will allow you to bulid a matrix of 3 days before and after departure and return... the only thing is, they dont always include all fares in the matrix... so it is still best to look one day at a time and do several combinations as there could be a huge difference from one day to the next. And like Jim does, always compare those VN travel agents n the mix as well. The rates for Christmas are already going Up... Wednesday is supposed to be the best rates of any day in the week.
