Why am I doing a I-130 , G-325a , I-864 and so on ?

I have read the step by step instructions and I need a cover letter saying why I am doing this and I am not sure , I just know I need too

The doc. really doesn't say , just ask a lot of questions

Again , thanks

Yes - sort of sounds like it - but the I-130 isn't usually something you would use if she is a K-1 entrant and you guys married within the 90-day validity period of her I-94.

If you had an actual timeline, it would be easier to see what you're doing and to advise you.

Well , she came here on a K-1 visa in May 18 2009 , we were married on July 25 , before the 90 visa expired , we are now out of status and we tried to get a SSN and were turned away .

So , someone directed us to http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide2

We are wanting a AOS , green card , I-765, Application for Employment Authorization and a travel permit , we need to get her legal so she can work and travel .

Ross.

I hope we didn't to the wrong docs .

We are just starting on the I-485 after doing the I-130 list .

If she arrived on a K1 and you were married within the 90 days then you do not need to file a I-130 you just need the AOS forms.

Tay is correct. Sorry you were misdirected. You would only need to file the I-130 if you had married after the 90-day period.

Yup.

I had to do some digging - the OP wasn't misdirected by anyone on VJ - a misunderstanding of sorts (I guess, from offsite) - somehow got the idea he had to do an I-130 when filing 'late' (after the 90 days). Was correctly advised at the time - perhaps the thread got buried.
