How long will it takes for NVC to transfer case to US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.

I have got the IR-1 visa interview letter from NVC on Sep 2nd, 2009. My wife's interview is on Oct 20, 2009 but US Embassy in Islamabad saying that they have no record for the case mentioned.

Thanks

K-3 and CR-1/IR-1 are completely different.

For K-3, NVC sends the case number to the Embassy or Consulate, and the Embassy or Consulate sends a packet to the beneficiary.

For CR-1/IR-1 after NVC has completed your case review, they schedule an interview (usually between the 1st of the month and the 15th of the month AFTER you get your case complete....if it's complete before the 15th of the month and they haven't scheduled interviews for your country, then you will be scheduled in the same month).

Once your interview has been scheduled...THEN they will send the package to the Embassy or Consulate along with all the other upcoming interviews for your country.

Hope this helps...see LingChe shorcuts (link in my sig) for more information on tracking the package from NVC to the Embassy or Consulate.

When I got an interview appointment letter in end of July for Sept, I called the Embassy and they said that they receive fiancée visas packages every day, but they receive CR-1 visa packages from NVC after the middle of the month and that's when I should call. So, I was calling NVC every day after till I heard the AVR saying "Your case has been sent to ...... on ......" and then I tracked the date in DHL website and saw when package was delivered in USEM and called right away. Good luck
