I applied for the K3 and my I130 was approved on Sept 1st and sent to the NVC center. My I-129 has not been approved as of yet, it was touched on Sep 1, 2, 3 but now nothing. Has anyone seen any approvals of the I-129 this late?

I know we should apply for the CR1 because it is the best route, but we wanted to do the K3 and if it didn't work be able to go back and apply for the CR1.

We married in Hong Kong and our K3 interview would be there, what about the CR1 where would he interview be? From my previous posts the reason we married in Hong Kong because my husband is not a Chinese citizen and we had no choice.

Any information please, I was curious if anyone else was waiting or waited this long for the I-129 approval. Thanks.

Allot of people like CR-1 router better. It is cheaper than K3 and you get your GC prior to going to USA. It was known that CR1 took longer than K3, but now allot of people are challenging that, claiming it doesn't.

I'm personally going visa K3, as I think it's quicker, but that only my opinion. Cause your CR-1 has been approved and sent to NVC before your K3 approval, it think K3 gets dropped, automatically, but I'm NOT 100% sure of this.

K3 category was released in 2003 I believe. CR-1 was taking a long time, K3 was created to shorten the length of time it takes you to obtain a visa; get to your loved one. With K3 you have 2 years to apply for GC and AOS, this will cost you $1,010.00.

As far as I understand there is an medical and interview for both visa's.

Recently there has been posts of K3 approvals. I, myself am waiting for K3 approval hopefully very soon.

Congratulations on your approval and best luck on whichever path you decide upon.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

The CR1 interview would be in your husband's country of residence as listed on the I-130. Look near the end of the petition to see which country you SAID he would apply for a visa in. If he is a resident of mainland China, the interview would be in Guangzhou.

For clarity, nobody has yet "applied for" anything. You've only filed petitions. With an approved I-130, the I-129F can no longer be approved. Follow the Ling Che shortcuts or optin for the electronic processing using this link as soon as NVC assigns a case number.

Thats when they are approved together as a K3 petition, which has been the procedure for quite some time. However, if the 130 is approved first(without the 129f) it is considered a CR1 stand alone and the 129f is then null and void. The point of the k3 was to be able to interview and immigrate while waiting for the 130..since they approve them together, its not a problem. When they approve the 130 as a stand alone that nullifies the k3(since you arent waiting for the 130 to be approved). USCIS can tell you that the 129f is basically void and you have no choice but to follow the cr1.

all that being said, I havent seen anyone's 130 being approved stand alone since 07(what i've seen posted on VJ anyway) if the 129f is filed right after the 130 NOA1 is received.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
