If I am not mistaken you can extend the NOA2 validity with the consulate. An NOA2 is typically valid for 4 months from NOA2 date.

From the K1 FAQ:

The "validity dates" of the petition approval, a 4 month period of time during which the fiance(e) must complete the requirements for the visa. (May not be on every approval notice, but that doesn't mean there is time to waste). Note: This validity period may be extended at the consulate if needed.

N-400 Stuff:
07/02/16 : N-400 sent

07/11/16 : NOA1

07/28/16 : Biometrics

04/03/17: Interview (approved)

04/14/17: Judicial oath ceremony

im so sorry to hear that.... how come your co-sponsor changed his mind? I mean, why now when you are already about to start your journey with NVC? anyway, that might be too personal. i think the best thing for you to do is call NVC and tell them about your concern. I think they can provide you solution to your problem. Give them a call now!

Ronalyn, this is a K-1 visa not a CR-1 like yours and the OP will not be dealing with NVC like you did. If he wants to delay the inteview he can request this from the consulate and they can grant extensins in 4 month increments. It is at their disgression if they will do so. But the consulate in this case, is the correct place to ask. The OP is all done with NVC for a K-1 visa.

Also, to the OP, has the "risk" of being a co-sponsor been explained to your family member? The risk for an I-1324 is virtually NONE. The document is not an enforceable contract for one, it only applies until it is replaced by the I-864 when she adjusts status, and ONLY applies if you fail to support her, she goes on welfare and you refuse to re-imburse the government for her welfare, AND all of that would have to happen in the 4-6 months from the time of the interview until the time of filing the I-864. The co-sponsor for the I-134 has a MUCH MUCH higher chance of being struck by lightning....today! In the next 10 minutes

You may need a joint sponsor for the AOS also (I-864) but them you are dealing with the USCIS and NOT the Manilla consulate. You can use ANY US citizen or permanent resident as a co-sponsor for the AOS, and I would NOT suggest using anyone that wants to play games about their risk, as a joint sponsor could withdraw their co-sponsorhip and cause you problems for the next several years, make sure you do not get involved with someone you do not trust not to mess with your life.
