What exactly will they check for in the medical exam?

That answer is consulate dependent... some consulates are same day, some next day, some next week and some will send it directly to the consulate themselves... check locally for your answer

it depends on your results...if results show you don't have any problems, one week is ok...sometimes though there are cases where people do the medical early enough (2-3 weeks) and your results get delivered to the embassy late anyway, resulting in delay of visa issuance..

then if they find that you have to redo some tests, your medical can take longer than the usual 2 days.

2 weeks is safe enough if you're healthy...but then again it depends on wy you want to do it that close to your interview

For women a pregnancy test. For all a drug test. Test for communicable diseases, HIV, TB, Polio, STDs. STDS and positive pregnancy will not cause a visa denial, but it results in the visa being held until the fiance is notified and agrees it is OK (if they are not at the interview and have no indication of previous knowledge of the condition)

Can you back up the drug test claim? I'd heard they don't test that unless they suspect something.
