Got our approval notice in the mail today. But unlike some of the example I have viewed here on this website it does not mention anything about the NVC. It states, "The above petition has been approved, and fowarded to the listed consulate." Which it doesn't list, maybe we are supposed to assume the embassy in Bogota? Any ideas?

yes, and the path to the consulate can only happen through the consulate "gateway" otherwise known as NVC

YMMV

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

congrats on approval....i never got any update on nvc in the uscis website...but u should call nvc and see if they have received it or not

You will never get an update on the USCIS website for NVC... they are two different agencies.... It is like getting an update on the SEC website for something at the IRS.

YMMV

congratulations

lately a few people have gotten the same letter but they all had to go thru nvc before being sent to the embassy.

sara

Exactly, it is just a different letter for the same purpose. All petitions go to NVC for dispersal to the correct embassy/consulate.

As several others have correctly stated, no one gets to the consulate without going through NVC. Pray that they don't decide to dump it into "additional processing" for too long.

And the "listed consulate" is the one you listed on #20, page 2 of the I-129F.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
