Passport photo size

Hi, everybody. My fiance sent me passport photos that seem to meet all the requirements EXCEPT that they are 2 x 2 3/4 inches... as opposed to 2 x 2. Should I have her send me ones that are 2 x 2 or do you think the ones she sent me will suffice? I sure don't want the process to get delayed due to something so trivial.

My fiancee gave me a passport photo that conformed to Vietnamese law. It was 2.25" x 1.75", and her head in the photo was 1.25" tall. The background was light blue instead of white. My petition was approved without any RFE's. However, the person adjudicating my petition may not have noticed, or may not have cared. You may get an adjudicator who feels differently. I didn't notice the photo dimensions until after I sent the petition, and it was one of MANY small details I sweated about, but it all worked out.

Check the "RFE Master List" sticky thread and see if anyone has gotten an RFE for passport photo dimensions. I doubt you'll get an RFE for the photo, but you'll have to decide for yourself whether you think there's any risk in sending the photo as is. Can you crop the photo to fit the correct dimensions, or is the content (i.e., size of her head) also the wrong size?

Nik got UK passport photos - they come out in strips, and I trimmed them without a thought about dimensions (let alone a ruler). No RFEs. For the petition phase only passport photo size does not seem to matter, especially as they don't seem to do anything with the photos except refer to them if a picture comes up in their research. For things you send in where the photo becomes part of the document (like the visa itself) you'll need to provide the right size. I wouldn't worry about it until preparing for the interview.

Corina sent me hers and they were a little smaller in one of the dimensions, about 1/8" less. We got approved with no RFE.

Well, Do the best you can and do it carefully. But if you sit on it for 3 weeks because you've paralyzed yourself with fear of RFEs, then you've added more time than would have been added if you got an RFE. Check it over again the morning after you think it's completely assembled, and then send it off.
