Hello,

I am looking for help. if anyone can help, please do.

My wife's case has now been out 15 months and we havent heard any response.

I dont know what to do

I have:

called so many times that they told me not to call back for 6 months ( i have names and badge numbers of everyone I have spoken to for 15 months now)

written my senator

visited with an attorney

written several letters to USCIS

etc.

I dont see anything else I can do. Currently, I am writing letters to both my senators and my representative, my governor, and the governor of california where my case is still waiting.

MY wife's case was transferred to the california service center on october 7 2008. and we have not heard anything back since then. every time I call, they just give me the round about. I can never get any answers. I am very frustrated. I cant even get any information, or know whats going on because no one seems to know.

we received her work permit card and now it is about to expire in about a month and a half, ad we still have heard nothing on our case.

is there anything I can do?

is there anyone i can talk to?

please help.

You have my complete sympathy! My AOS took 22 months to process including 8 months after it was transferred to California. I suspect yours - like ours - probably got put to the side somewhere and it took an inquiry to get it back onto someone's desk. I know my inquiry got a second biometrics appointment and then the approval came 4 months later. At the time there was an email address circulating for USCIS that I used and while I got no response I did receive the biometrics appointment the following week.

Here is a link to a recent media release from USCIS regarding contacting the Service Centers with problems: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=213661 Read it over and then use the email address given for the California Service Center to contact them with your inquiry, using the format they suggest.

You may also wish to make an Infopass appointment at your local USCIS office if the above does not bring satisfactory results. You can make an appointment by going to http://www.uscis.gov then selecting "Schedule an Appointment" from the right hand column and following the instructions.

Good luck to you, and I hope that knowing it took me 22 months - with no RFE's and no interview - to get my AOS approval will offer you some sort of reassurance.

Oh - I would definitely file for a new employment authorization as well just in case things are delayed. There is no fee involved for a renewal as there was no fee for the initial EAD filed with the AOS. I had to renew my EAD and was just about to file to renew it again when my approval came through.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Check out http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

They have instructions on how to get case updates by sending to the email addresses listed in the uscis web page. I don't know whether they actually reply and give status updates, but it may be worth a try.

Sorry to hear that your case is taking so long.
