Affidavit of support... self support for k1 visa?

My fiancée (USC) is above the level required as she has a steady permanent employment job, but I'm hoping to also have sufficient savings to permit the self sponsor so to speak, as I just don't like the idea of ever being financially provided for 😛 (Stuborn to a fault, I know!)

While that is a noble thought, it is impractical and short lived because in a very short time you will need a new affidavit of support for AOS which requires your wife to be the sponsor.  It will be easier to provide her I-134 and employer letter to breeze through the London interview with no extra discussion.

Oh yeah, we are using the affidavit of support form (I-846 right?) for the initial UK based interview, it's just also being backed up by personal statements too. We know they're only bothered on one of the 2 but 2 for 2 is always a slight plus

K1 visa interview in London:

I-134 Affidavit of Support. 

Proof of Income- Employer letter or latest tax return or pay stubs 

 

Adjustment of Status (send with application): 

I-864 Affidavit of Support

Spouse must be primary sponsor even with no income, but joint-sponsor allowed

Latest tax return or transcript required. 

Income amounts off two more tax returns entered on the form.

Optional proofs- employer letter, 6 months worth of pay stubs.

Agreed - avoid the self-sponsor option unless needed. It is a viable option for London, but they aren't; strict on the I-134 so that would be simpler all around. The I-134 isn't binding either, so it's not like you're saving the petitioner from any obligations by doing it.
