Hello guys!

I know! I know! that your first answer in mind is to write will be that I need to wait! but please just read why I am starting to think that I need to do something more about my case.

I received a letter of approval from the local office (in a very simple white sheed) with approval date of 08-12-09. But my case online still showing "pending", there is no updates, emails, no production card notice or touches since the Biometrics (07-24-09) and yesterday I called the 1-800 number and they told me that even in their system my case is still pending ( ????????) and that I need to wait what it said in the letter to receive my new card and to see any update in the system (60 days).

What do you think guys, Do I need to worry or do anything else or just wait? Anyone with a case like mine??

Thanks.

Csoul.

The online system is unreliable. We received our approval notice in the mail, with out any touches or email. Still showed pending until about 2 or 3 days later. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for your feedback Meriem! but I was reading your timeline and looks like the email of the new production card was just 2 days after you get the mail of approval.

Is you online status showing approved now?

Thanks

Hi flutter95, still nothing... :clock: 17 days after the approval date and NO production card email, NO updates in the website (my case still pending) and NO touches (last touch: 07/24/09).

At least I know that I am approved but everybody is getting their approval emails and card production orders almost immediately after their approvals.

Ok guys, after 34 days since my approval on the mail (in a plain white paper) I decided to call 1-800 for a service request because I am still waiting for any update online, my green card or the card production order email and also the I-797D.

After 3 attemps with the 3 different USCIS operators (the first 2 told that I need to wait more time) I finally get one very friendly that immediately decided to open the service request. I told her that I read in the website that if you have the approval and It has been more than 30 days without receiving the green card or the welcome letter you should call customer service and that is what I did. She agree with that.

I am sure that now I am going to receive my GC or at least the green card production order email very soon.

Let see what happens

Good luck to all of you.

Hi rlt,

Yeah, believe me is 100% better to receive the email of approval or the card production email than the plain paper with the approval on regular mail ... I was reading and most of the timelines show that the green card arrive in just several days when you get the emails and the updates online instead of the letter by mail only, maybe they forget to do it in a quick way like if you have the approval online (?).

In any case I think the better way is to put a little bit of pressure on them to get the updates or the green card. I am 100% sure that without the service request I would wait more than 60 days without any update or green card.

I will let you know any update.

I bet it is.

But honestly, we (VJ people) are only a few percentage of the total of ppl applying for a GC.

It is hard to rule it out.

Still, we were approved (weren't we?). I think you made the right decision by calling them, but someone posted in a different topic that they got their GC in the mail and their online status still says "pending".

Go figure...

I got the plain approval letter same like you and the date approval was August 29 2009, but my case online wasn't updated until Sept 10 2009, They email me that they produced my card.

Sept 12 2009 I got another email with current Status: Approval notice sent.

Sept 15 2009 I got my card on the mail, and I was surprised because it sent with blank envelope without USCIS and not with return mailed.

So...I don't know what's going on with USCIS lately...:D

I think be patient is the best answer...

sorry...and hope you will have the answer soon...

Please keep us posted.

I just received an email from CRIS saying my card production was ordered.

Each case is different. Yours might take a little longer but you will receive your card in the mail too.

I will update you once I receive mine.

Well!!! Today I received two good things. The first one (in the morning) was an email from USCIS about my service request saying that my request was correct and that my card production should be ordered soon.

Then about two hours after that email... another one and the online status now is showing:

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: Card production ordered

On September 17, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

So my service request was right and that activated the production of my card as I was expecting!

I am so happy to close this chapter of my immigration process and wait with no stress for the next one (citizenship!).

Good luck guys.

Just in case someone else looks at this thread in the future - I got my Approval letter and 10 year GC months ago, but the online case status still says Pending... I just got approved for naturalization and online my case status has not changed from the date I sent the application. Perhaps the new USCIS website will be better in a few days? But for now, it's not reliable :P
